Why did this seemingly work for everyone but me?

This did not work

Cold weather coming again, so got my my propane tank filled, got my Big Buddy from basement when I store it in trash bag, and hooked it up to a new shorter hose with regulator, and after 30 clicks or so...nothing. I kinda panicked, as now the 6' hose is full of propane. Saw your video, couldn't get grill off, but managed to get a wooden stick swab dipped in Everclear, and pushed it in the hole. Started first click!! All this is important as I use this heater in living room. Been doing this for 15 years. I check all fittings with a gas checker. Cuts down on my fuel my bills greatly. Thanks!

I’ve cleaned it three times, wasn’t even dirty, still won’t ignite. There’s a little spark, that’s it. I’m freezing in my trailer and just hoped it would work. Yuk!

Out here ice fishing heater shut off couldn't get back on was about to pack up looked up a video didn't have a Q-tip so I blow it out now I'm back in business thank you buddy

I work construction, in an unheated building, and my fingers go numb from cold, even with gloves. Haven't used my Big Buddy heater in three years. It was stored in a dusty basement. The pilot wouldn't light, and I was bummed, until I watched this video. Your procedure worked! For good measure, I blew the pilot tube, and ceramic grids, with compressed air, and the heater runs like new again. Thanks, man!

Thank you very much, I had mine fully disassembled cleaned and put back together .... blowen out with clean compressed air. Still didn't light. One cotton swab and so rubbing alcohol and bam she's working

It's great for travel as well. Just stow and go. Love this thing! For hunters, I've heard that they also make a little hood so that it focuses the heat a bit more if you have to sit further away. Just a heads up. It's so easy and quick to set up and get going.

Weight of oil required is on a sticker on top of the motor. 3 LITERS will fill it but 3 QUARTS will not fill all the way up(as this video states) but will leave you .17qts short. EVERYONE skirts this issue- or is it not an issue.

Works!!! Almost no visible difference from the flame before and the flame after. Did this with just the q-tip and no rubbing alcohol. Was trying to light it for 20 minutes. Shove the q-tip in it and now it fires up.

Thank you! I didn't have alcohol or swabs, so I used a pipe cleaner as someone below suggested. Worked perfectly!

Use quality q-tips! ( had dollar store cheap ones) Just spent 1 1/2 hrs tearing it apart to remove the cotton end that completely came off the end and was jammed down in there .
