Hey there! The name is TevyBear! I make videos about video games on the internet! (Original, I'm aware.) I usually do review based content but every once in a while you may see a reaction or some other type of video surface. Whatever you're here for I hope you enjoy your stay!
26:14 There's a reason whenever I played Mario Kart with friends I was noturious for getting bombs in first place and dropping them right at the finish line
So my journey with SS has been an overall fun one. Me & my brother had pre-ordered the Wiimote Plus bundle (since he technically paid for most of it he took the wiimote with him when he moved out). As for pre-release, I still distinctly remember playing the demo at one of my first ever PAX years, booting up the boss battle demo (which is the first Ghirahim fight but you have full hearts & I wanna say the Hylian Shield)... and getting BODIED. That was the moment I went "oh. Oh combat is gonna be FUN once I get the proper start of the game curve" because like you said, every fight is a puzzle & that demo knowledge checked the fuck out of me. As for when the full game came out, yeah it was my favorite Zelda for a good while. Ghirahim is still one of my favorite antagonists in any game with how many times he almost wins (and technically does at the end since he wanted to revive Demise & DID until Demise went "1v1 me bro"), these versions of Link & Zelda are still some of my favorites if not my actual faves, THE GROOSE IS LOOSE (make Hyrule Warriors 2 & put him in it cowards), & I didn't even mind the backtracking during the story since almost every visit is different in some way (even if like you said Scrapper is a right bastard who needs to get patience programmed in him). I also really enjoyed the side content since the main collectable is literal crystals of happiness. Being able to help people & that directly contribute to helping a friendly demon become the human he desperately wants to be just feels GREAT & helps get you invested in some of the townsfolk's mini-arcs. Also can't forget how this was the first introduction of Hero Mode with them even adding the final boss gauntlet to the boss rush minigame in that mode. Always love those extra rewards.
For me, Wind Waker will forever be one of my favorites. I just absolutely adore this version of Link & Ganondorf, the art style is right up my alley especially with how expressive Link is (fun fact you might not catch, his eyes will actively look at points of interest during gameplay), I love the OST to bits, & on the actual gameplay stuff, I just have lots of fun exploring the islands & while the combat is rather easy, the overall mechanics are still fun to me especially with the parry. As for the bosses, I always had an affinity for almost all of them. Kalle Demos gave me some shit as a kid so you got the nostalgia memories there (plus I just love the color palette). Gohdan is one I love for the lore of being a test for Link instead of one of Ganon's minions complete with keeping your arrows stocked if you run low. Jalhala for being the best conclusion to WW's goofy take on Poes. Molgera for both a unique take on the classic worm boss & of course for that fucking music (commissioned my friend for a metal cover of that one recently). Also from having streamed this a few times, oh man randomizers for it get interesting with just how many points of interest there are. Overall, it's a game where while yeah, it's obvious they had to cut content in spots, but for me the overall fun I have with it outweighs that heavily because it's just got so much charm & you can tell that the devs had passion for it even if they weren't given a long time to make it. Also yeah, full agree to play HD if possible. I still love the original version, but those QoL improvements are great. There's a reason the randomizer I play has a Swift Sail option modded in.
