Payoneer should be an option for you. Higher fees unfortunately, but no other options as I understand. You could also look to publish your eBook via Draft2Digital, which can pay to PayPal. If Paypal was an option for you?
Hi Dave. Was wondering if you could tell me how the tax would work as a SA citizen and if I need an EIN number. Not too sure how that works and don't want to get into trouble.
Hey there! When creating your Amazon KDP account you will be able to enter your South African PAYE number during the tax interview. This should then release all due royalties to you. It would then be your responsibility to settle your taxes from royalties earning with our local SARS. Hope this helps?

Received my ISBN here in SA, but did not realize I have to ensure that a copy of my book goes to 6 places as stated in my email on my cost. Do you perhaps have any suggestions as a plan B if you like? Also, regarding payment details. Will money now be directly transferred to any SA bank account from Amazon? Debating between SA account, Payoneer or my NatWest in UK? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
@@lerinahuman4827 At a minimum a single copy will need to be posted/ couriered to the head office of our NLSA in CPT or PTA. Amazon KDP should be able to pay to your local SA bank account, yes. Some authors have had issues with receiving payments. Use Payoneer as a backup.
Hi there from Australia! i just checked out the royalties estimator on the KDP help page and im 🫤 confused. It says my royaty rate is 60% of my list price, however the estimated royalty says $2.51, which is not 60%. Is this confusing to anyone else? Shouldnt it be list price ie 12.99 less the printing cost 5.28? Which i worked out to be $7.71 Where is the other $5 going? Im in Aus and wow, we are being charged so much more than the US. Do you know why?

What should i do when it says so To receive your payments, choose a Purpose of Payment (PoP) (sometimes called Reason for Transfer) on the South Africa Reserve Bank. You must update this information one time per calendar year. If your PoP expires, Amazon's banking partner will contact you to update it.

One of the reasons I'm happy that I moved to Canada years ago :) However, I wish KDP would get a POD facility in Mzansi so I could publish there too. We have several printing facilities across Canada, but the shipping fees to SA would defeat the purpose. I can still do e-books for Afrikaans folks at least :) from here.

However, I guess I should have been more clear. I was asking you how I can add all of these Books2Read sales pages links on my Shop page of my website. Essentially embedding the B2R page with All store links, including the geo-location functionality as-is to my page. OR are you saying that that is not possible, and I would need to individually replicate every Store Link from the Universal Book Links onto my Shop page? Not sure if that makes more sense?
Yeah, KDP and their 2FA can be a headache! I recommend logging into Amazon.com using your KDP access details. You can then navigate to "Account Options" from within Amazon and turn 2FA off - or change from SMS to Email etc

So true, I was listening to an amazing author and he only had a crappy link to a crappy Amazon link where it said a paperback was over $100 and I couldn't find any info or anything on him at all, so I gave up and I can't even remember his name now, I was so disappointed 😞

Hi Dave. Thanks for the video. I have just recently signed up with KDP and successfully added my banking details, however for some reason Amazon will not allow me to publish until the PoP is updated. Seems like this now needs to be done upfront. I cannot see where i can update this information. Please help.
Hi Dave :) This video was super informative and I really appreciate the help! I have written and illustration my book and signed up for the amazon account. The issue that I am encountering is that it asks for a TIN number when setting up the account. If you don't have a tax number, is it still possible to sell your book on amazon?
Thanks for the heads up! However, each of the South African bank accounts I add comes up with "none assigned" for currency for transactions to be made in and says "This bank account is not being used, so it will not be saved" when yes, it IS being used. It seems there's no automatic allocation of ZAR for an SA account and nowhere I can see where you can choose ZAR. Can anyone help?
Hey Ronanne, I think it might be a simple setting that you need to select to resolve the issue. Head back to your account section with Amazon KDP and scroll down to where you have loaded your South African bank details...look for a blue hyperlink labelled "Expand Details" this is where you would select which Amazon territories are paid into your local bank accounts. It sounds like you might need to make or update a few settings there to come right. If this doesn't work, pop me a message via our website (myebook.online) and I will give you some KDP support :)
How long do the sales take to populate for your first title? I know I’ve had sales on the first day because my viewers screenshot their purchases, but no sales has shown up in the first 24 hours.
Interesting. The sales reports are updated hourly as I remember. I found an article from Amazon that actually states every 15 minutes = kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/topic/GVTTXHKHVPAPBEDQ#:~:text=Sales%20Dashboard%20is%20updated%20every,reports%20after%20the%20order%20ships.
