For decades, analog camera users: bring back film cameras, bring them back please. When someone spends money on the revival and brings one for the masses (not for pros) YTvs: don't buy this, buy old for less, let them drown in debt, so we will get to cry again.

has a normal focusing ring with distances, but in the viewfinder you have the mountain the group of people and the single person to have a reference :D
I like Miranda cameras but I see absolutely no point bashing the Pentax 17 for it. You like old cameras? Fine. Someone else can buy the Pentax 17 if it fits their purpose but don't ruin it for everyone else.
This is a great selection of lenses. The lesser known Japanese brands from the era are also excellent: Fujinon, Tomioka, Yashica/ Chinon/ Revuenon, Topcor etc and of course the German lenses. Once multi-coatings were introduced in into the design of lenses, the gains in lens technology have been incremental and generally at the cost of ever increasing size!
I just watched your video about the Sony A7R2, and I think I might opt for that one to adapt my vintage glass on, Una Domanda: I am hoping to use the high resolution of the A7R2, did you notice that cropping in the image you obtained from the vintage glass can introduce some unwanted loss in the quality of the image ?
Hi, the a7r2 is fantastic, but if you want to crop the image it is better to use very resolving lenses! otherwise if you do not use the entire sensor which is very dense you risk having soft images
Thank you for your perspective! I think the new Rollei 35 AF is much better than the Pentax 17. I would have welcomed the original 40mm instead of the 35mm for the Rollei. I take photos with a Rollei 35s and I find the new Rollei 35AF interesting if it delivers good image quality. A Pentax 17 with an f1.7 lens :-) and better choice of materials would have pleased many analog camera fans. The old Olympus Pen D3 has an f1.7 lens and half frame. Pentax-Ricoh made the wrong choice here when it came to equipping the Pentax 17!!! The price of the new Rollei 35AF is OK! Film and development and scanning costs are really expensive!!!! It doesn't matter which analog camera you use. If these prices continue to rise, analog photography will become a super luxury. A hobby that most people no longer want or can afford.
I have the Vivitar Series 1 lens in 70-210. The spring-loaded tiny ball bearing for the F stops works fine. Yours may be stuck inside or missing? Nikon mount.
Sure. And I own >5 of these because they break or need repair. I am still happy with my old cameras but I like the idea of “new with warranty”. And even though I will buy the Mint, my GAS will keep me buying vintage too.

Hello friend! I also scan my film negatives with my A7Rii. Pro tip: Use a bright blue light table when you record the RAW. This will shift the color information in the RAW so you can get perfect color balance with one click by using the white balance tool and selecting an unexposed piece of the film. This is not possible when scanning color negatives against a white light table. ❤
I am actually also in a process to test a lot of 50mm lenses. The canon, the Nikon, the Pentax are already finished projects and I agree with your results. I did not compare these one by one, but the canon is for sure the most weakest. I especially didn’t like the canons bokeh. At the moment I test a Nikon 1.8 and it is much better, than the 1.4 wide open on the Center. Maybe the 1.4 was more for marketing and less for usability. 😊

If I were You I would tape over the markings if You take it outside (or simply use a Leica, Leica copy or FED or Zorki) for the fun of using this type..... I am not sure why the FED, Zorki, n Keiv do not create the same kind of hatred (if we look at the kind of Government and Rulers, of the Past, and in USSR n Russia of today) FOOD for THOUGHT: Many manufacturers from times gone by were builders of weapons of war, and we buy their offerings today, and no such display of hate as some commentors here (HMMM)..... I have an earlier version of your porst 135mm f1.8 - the spiratone 135mm f1.8. I don't think it has any coatings to speak of so it flares like crazy and runs from contrast (olympus mount).
you can use at is it! you have only tu put nice lenses in front! you can set the focal lenght for the vintage lenses, you can have a crop for precise focusng it takes 4k video, you have everything :DD

I have a Sony A57 in my collection. It's a nice light camera compared to its reflex brothers and because there's no mirror it just makes a "snick" noise as the focal plane shutter operates. The focus is a bit slow and the EVF although workable is nothing compared to the latest models. Y
tyvm for the comparison. although i disagree with a few of your findings, your thoroughness made it easy for me to come to my own conclusions. i own all of these lenses except i have an older version of the nikon. i hope you will also do a comparison of the 35mm f2 models of all these lenses (f1.8 for the minolta). great video!
