Welcome to my channel! I am an avid vintage and modern Star Wars action figure collector and created this channel to basically serve as a way to connect with other collectors around the world. I only collect graded figures and spend the majority of my time within the hobby searching for excellent examples to acquire and have professionally graded. I collect everything from loose figures to mint-on-card examples, prototypes, variants, foreign carded figures, and everything in between.

Love these Popy! But what I love even more is TAKARA 78 Die-Cast R2D2, C3PO, Darth, X-Wing. With Shooting rockets and Vader with crossbow. I have R2 and 3PO...still looking for a good darth for decent price.
Holy cow! 😳 I was watching some of those Poppy's, Boba Fett was the only one really high priced. Couldn't believe the C-3PO went for that much. How many different total figures did the Poppy brand make? Thanks for the updates 👍
One guy bought them all. He must have bid $5K (or higher) on every single one of them. I just looked at the bid history, and one other guy also went nuclear with his bids. Hence the insane prices. That is the risk of nuclear bidding though I guess.
From a former popy collector, yes crazy prices …..I get someone wanted a instant collection but there were multiple underbidders, to get those prices for lots, mate
I went back and looked at the bid history for all of them, and it was the same two people that put in ridiculous bids on all of them. So two guys went nuclear with their bids last second on both and the rest of the bids were more in line with market
A poor man's version of a palitoy vinyl cape jawa. I guess you could say I have a poor man's version of Glasslite C-3PO. Original card. Someone tried to take the price sticker off and caused some damage in the right-hand corner at the top. Figure is in excellent shape. figure is separated from the card. Would you get the C-3PO graded by itself or both together ? I'm curious. I'm dropping it off to CAS tomorrow at the show. Thanks.
I would get the item "Preserved Graded" with CAS. They will encase it so it looks like a MOC but only loose-grade the figure. It is the only way to go.
Absolutely love this discussion John! As a micro economist myself and long term collector I get it. What I would say though is we need to do some more market definition/segmentation sometime. 😉 if you think clone wars stuff is going to fall off a cliff in 20 years I don’t know what to tell you 😂 those dudes are pretty inelastic!!!!
Id say 95/9.5 with AFA is only available to the select insider club. I hold no faith in an AFA 90/9.0+. My question still stands though, if a figure is graded a 90/9.0 you must show what the 10% damage is.
Is that Luke VC04 walking photo that much because it's rare or because it's hard to find unpunched? Some higher priced items for modern VC collection. Thanks for the updates 👍
Great video, lots of interesting stuff on this one. Man I dodged a bullet on that carbonite Jar Jar that went for $516 that I was bidding on, somehow I completely overlooked the edge wear in the corner. Scary that I could miss something that obvious when I get excited over something at auction that is ending fast when I find it.
I just learned CAS grading will be at my local toy show this weekend. I'm really happy about that. I have some fantastic figures to get graded. Great video.
I know the VC has its niche but man I am not spending $1k on a modern figure, I can buy some really nice Kenner Vintage for that kind of money. Not slighting anyone , I just cannot see that sustaining that kind of money.
These guys are going to be asking for a refund if any of them watch this video 😂 🤣 Not sure if other auction houses usually state dislocation of the figures after grading but I’m sure I’ve seen “bubble has yellowed since grading” on hakes. It’s a bit annoying they don’t take the time to take more photos, it’s almost a bit dishonest. hakes has like 1 actual photo of the front of the example, I got a Luke bespin with a huge hair scrape that wasn’t visible on the head from the one front on shot they provide. I ended up selling it for a loss 👎🏼
525k wow. I saw a 1/1 MOC boba fett prototype said to be made for a toy fair on pawn stars just a few days ago (not sure when it actually aired) and the guy only wanted $150k. And that was a 1/1! Curious now as to what slot it had on his back.
I know exactly what your Cheers 🍻 reference is 😂I took a low grade Rebel Commander ESB card to a Comic Con once and met John Ratzenberger and had him sign my card as Major Derlin. He was always referred to as that figure👌 nice guy, talks just like Cliff😂 Thanks for the updates 👍
