How come as soon as he says "Hopper Dredge" at 2:08, they cut to a Cutter Suction Dredge??? NOT the right type of dredge. Not even the same company doing the restoration! Close enough for Gubmint work! Gubmint, the fresh maker!! 🙂
Thank you for this vid. I have watched this ongoing project for a long time, but didn't know the details. I'm amazed how pretty the beach turned out after watching that muck spew out. I am not generally a fan of big government projects, but kudos to all involved. A real plus for our island
Mayde Creek east of Greenhouse Rd. is narrow & clogged. The creek was dredged west of Greenhouse, but is useless because of the east side. Also, all the giant apartments built on the open low land (probably due to obama's urbanization housing plan) on Greenhouse Rd., leaves no other place for water to go. 77084 zip has suffered flood in the past & now looks scary.
The flooding in Kingwood occurred end of August of 2017, approximately 8 months after this video is being filmed. Hurricane season is here. Corp of Engineers is still 'studying' the issues. This does not mention the issues of upstream illegal sand mining or the precipitous actions of the San Jacinto River Authority in releasing waters from the dam near Conroe, TX that led to the flooding in Kingwood and Atascocita areas.
