Hello, and thanks for this tutorial. I'm trying to reproduce something like this but within c4d 2024.5, but I don't why, it doesn't work (scalar user data, but for color, sounds like I'm getting bool / 0-1). My question is : any chance you still have it working in latest versions, so I can check if the issue comes from me ?
Here is the file for 3D Printing, personaly use only, not reslae. easyupload.io/gwqxpc Link valid for 30 days, not used this method before, download at your own risk, but should be fine.
PowerDirector 2024 is available as subscription or perpetual licence. You can still get version 21 at a lower cost. I have not been asked to make this from Cyberlink so the opinions given are true tomu experience.
@@CGDreamsTutorials I bought ornatrix for maya on mac, except mac version hair strands does not face camera and selection of anykind crashes maya. I lost faith in that company Im not sure if they even fixed that in version 4 since mac no longer supports opengl and they havent move to metal and they are still selling it without return policy. BTW this video and few others you made is how I got all my info how to do proper humans, many thanks for that.
Just popping by to say - this is extremely useful, thanks. Was watching the Maya workflow, and this is about 95% of it for C4D, saved me another day of heartache :)
Hi, I'm watching and commenting on this video from Korea. Thank you for making me realize that retopology is a hellish labor, a pain that I will have to endure for what seems like an eternity. Now I'm more determined.
Thanks for your comments. The retopology process is time consuming but its also rewarding when you see the clean results. Also its worth noting that 3DCoat is a much better tool for this work.
Unfortunately, C4D is very weak in terms of hair dynamics, and the process of calculating hair dynamics in this software is completely wrong Hair dynamics requires bending resistance - tensile strength - degree of hardness and maintaining the state of the initial curve and energy loss settings. While the hair dynamics settings in C4D are completely funny and have nothing to do with hair dynamics I don't know why Maxon company doesn't make any changes in this part and doesn't fix it😮💨😮💨😮💨
Yes unfortunately while its possible to do dynamics for certain projects, its more suitable for fur than long hair. The tech for the hair system is long overdue for a revamp and Im sure they will get to it eventually as C4D has had many positive changes in last few years. In the mean time its hard to beat Ornatrix in all areas inc dynamics for hair.
Hello, can you tutorial the braid hair, i was watch this video and i was tried but it didn't work exactly like what you did in the video, i feel so sad 😢
Could you please explain how to model wings in your version of the bee(rig version)? I mean more advanced one rather in the tutor version. It will be very helpful as I already modelled everything except this one. How did you model this net form of the frame of the wing and the membrane part? I see that they are as different meshes. But how did you connect them so accurate? What was the pipeline of creation, what tools and etc? I tried different approaches but can't recreate the result. Hope for the answer! Regards
Hello @ztvckjyf did you do the modelling of the Bee? If yes could you send it to me so I can practice the rigging, it's for school Project only! It would help me so much, thank you <3
Hey CGDreams! I tried emailing you with a question about Ornatrix but couldn't get it through, so I thought I'd copy/paste the email here in hopes of reaching you :) Absolutely love the tutorials and content you've made over the years, fantastic channel. I am writing today to ask potentially what I may be doing incorrectly in my first test with Ornatrix hair on a rigged character. Basically, I can't get the hair to render correctly in animation, but when I update and render each frame individually it renders correctly. I've tried animation caching within the Ornatrix plugin, but have had no luck yet. I was wondering if you could potentially point me in the right direction? I've tried grouping the hair and putting it inside the "Head_cont+" null in cinema, or using the roots themselves, to no avail. Also the splines seem to correctly follow the animation within the scene in the viewport, and work if I test a single frame, but don't render their position correctly when rendering the sequence in the picture viewer. Thank you so much for any sort of insight you can provide, I greatly appreciate it in advance! My email is chris@toast.tv if you happen to see this and want to respond there!
great tut! amazing how even after some years its still uptodate. i have a question though. hair clump messes the animation of hair.... is there any workaround you can share?
Since making this video I have made some adaptions which I will show in a follow up video soon. These adaptions are I got a proper mask that has the correct filters, the mask you get with this printer does not protect you from the VOC fumes. I got a Air Purifier to run right beside the printer while printing. This helps reduce the smell but the VOC fumes will not be eliminated. The monitor on this air purifier and in fact all I have found so far only sense Voc 2.5, the fumes from resin are smaller particles than this. I also ended up getting a 6" inline extractor fan with a Carbon filter and hose, this is to be fitted in my garage window. I made a stand for my mini heater to bring it higher, stand more sturdy. I also added a inline switch for this. amzn.eu/d/gIDUbwr amzn.eu/d/csanDhr amzn.eu/d/ayUUafB amzn.eu/d/gQAYRAR amzn.eu/d/7WNoL7i
How come you have a totally pro vocal saying "rising falling drifting to the end" that sounds like it's from a pro vynil release, on a cool cover with only 209 views? where did you get that and is there an extended version?
Hi, glad you liked it. The vocal was made with a very cool VST instrument called Synthesizer V. I made up the melody and lyrics using this vocal synthesizer. This cover was made primarily to get into a workflow with VPS Avenger VSTi and the Vocal synth.
I know this video is, like, eleven years old, so I probably won't get a response. But, the program just crashes whenever I click the lightning bolt like at 6:25. anyone else had that problem?
Its been a very long time indeed. I do know DAZ3D released a updated version after this so see what there is now. Windows 11 now, I'm thinking this may be the issue?
Hi CGDreams, this technique worked perfectly for me until it came to animating my character. The eyelash tips seem to want to point forward at all times, though the roots remain rooted. So, for example, if front camera is pointing at my character, and my character turns her head left, the eyelashes will continue to point towards the front camera and will clip through the face. I have tried dozens of ways to fix this or understand it (including trying this technique on different character models), but nothing so far. Any knowledge on how to fix/get around this? I am stumped on how to add eyelashes to my character without directly applying them to my mesh. Thanks for your helpful tutorials.
My buddy figured out a workaround... We just rotate the splines themselves to the correct position and key it throughout the animation... It's an extra thing to key, but this seems like the best way to create eyelashes, so I say it's worth it. Thanks for replying!
Thanks for pointing that out, Im setting up a redirect to my Artstation. www.artstation.com/cgdreamstutorials/profile cgdreamstutorials.artstation.com/
No, Unfortunately the wash n cure is not big enough. Also to add which I will address in a video is that for some delicate models the wash n cure plus is too powerful, it will break parts off some models.
@@Electrobeam673 Here is the link to heater. I did make a stand for this to stop bring it higher and hold it more secure in place. I have also added a inline switch since this video. amzn.eu/d/cLXE688
This would indicate that you have not set up the render engine with the appropriate material for hair. I would need to know more on this to be certain.
Awesome tutorial. Thank you so much. I've been using Daz figures for quite some time (mostly with Corona but now swaping over to RedShift) and after this I have a way better (by far) result.
