Really glad I got into speedrunning TDD thanks to this video. The bar for entry is pretty damn low, but the learning curve in order to get truly fast is daunting. Lost plenty of runs in Nave. Still, really fun being able to run through one of my favorite games in less than an hour semi-casually
I know this tutorial is 9 years old, but thank you so much my dude, I got gorge skip on the fence on my 4th and 5th attempt, and on my 8th or so attempt I got the left roll with a down strafe and managed to stay on the ledge without falling down
I got this very easily on a casual playthrough, and I didn't even do all the precise measurements required. I just eyeballed the boomerang lineup, and somehow got it. Unfortunatly I was too far into the quest, so I couldn't warp it, but it's still crazy that I got it to work!
I'd suggest verifying the integrity of the game files in the game's properties on Steam, consider getting a fresh install of LiveSplit (back up any split files you may have from other games first), and try again. If it still doesn't work then I'd suggest joining the HPL Games Speedrunning Discord server (link in the description) and asking Proto, the creator.
This is a surprisingly nice ambience to listen to. TP is one of my favorites and its interesting listening to the sounds of the game while working on other things.
@@gkruspe Haha it's not faster by much, but they didn't want you to leave, and instead of risking you being able to escape from their attacks (this is possible btw) they simply placed a death plane before the door, and it's faster to hit that trigger than to run into them. This Zelda game, along with The Wind Waker, Link's Crossbow Training and Skyward Sword have the same sound effects from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and the Super Mario Galaxy games.
the more you play snowpeak the more you realize how broken the level design is here. i learned that if you sequence break the doors, the game will freeze during the unlock cutscene which you cannot skip. ironic how in OoT if you unlock a door from the wrong side, the game progresses normally.
