Dylan Hennessy is a Toronto-based artist whose obsession with a broad range of music has led him down a one-man prog band rabbit hole, accompanied by a whirlwind of imaginative sounds, looping stations and hard-hitting live drums. As a graduate of Seneca College’s “Independent Music Production” program, he is a versatile musician, spanning an array of instruments in a variety of genres, with his show focused on original looping arrangements done heavier than you might expect.
Since 2017, Dylan’s live abilities have lead him to open for Finger Eleven, I Mother Earth, MONOWHALES, taken him to some of Toronto’s most recognizable stages (Yonge-Dundas Square, MOD Club, The Phoenix, Horseshoe Tavern), countless independently organized showcases and festival performances, won him a flight to Israel, landed him a five show run in Manchester for Indie Week Europe, and have taken him all the way to a 3rd place finish at the Indie Week Canada 2018 Finals out of over 200 artists.
I made the music. The real drummer passed away in 2012. I recorded the drums with a rock band kit in Cakewalk and the free version of Addictive drums that came with Cakewalk Sonar. I don't play drums and got through the album in one day by saying bo zappa to keep that snap.
Fun fact: I was looking for the song "Luminol" by Steven Wilson and I typed "Luminil" by mistake and found this song. I came looking for copper and I found gold😎
