I would love it to be a little slower so i can get my bearings a little. If I put it on pause the picture fades too much to be able to do that. Thank you for some great pictures.

Classic Perfect Match - Dating game show from the late 1980's 0701am 6.8.23 in UK it was blind date which ruled the concept of taking the off the cuff romance that little bit further... ahhh, it's the ozzie version. hard luck pommies.... tall aussies who cant get a date or just random admin staff who work for network 10 saving the cash for the company..... this show is defo a vehicle for mass murderers, i feel...

@@speckledjim5150 Comments on ‘Classic Perfect Match - Dating game show from the late 1980's’ 0455am 13.1.24 erm, i dont do dating apps, either. the smart phone i was given wont accept my sim card... that said, i doubt i would sign up to shit like dating apps or sign up to any dubious crud on-line. it probably works for some. maybe works for those who like crazy one night stands with women in your area - which means meet up with an undercover police officer at McDonalds...as for the lags who create accounts in another's name and then try to cause hi-jinx. again, they'll get their comeuppance etc etc etc the sex industry has taken over a hell of a lot of social interaction. sign up to the pub. that usually does the job where such things as dating and parceling folk off are concerned......

Yes back in those days people used to catch the train to work in the city unlike the wimps of today working from home and letting city businesses down and the weak State Government who seems they will lose votes if they make working from home not allowed .

Good memories ; my suggestion : get rid of the stupid Bourke St. and Swanson St. malls. They have never been any good and it would be a return to the far more tasteful vision of the original planners. Davox.

West Gate Bridge. That was a site to be seen. I still remember as a kid, when we would use a Car Ferry to cross the Yarra River in Williamstown. It was towed along by cables, which pulled it across the river. Not sure how many others might have known about this Car Ferry ?

You've taken me back in my mind to when l must've been about 3 and a long-since forgotten trip to Willy on the ferry with my grandmother in the early 70s. Seeing that she lived on the other side of the city in Hampton, I've no idea why we caught the ferry but it's been a lot of fun trying to remember, so thanks.

I used to use that State Savings Bank @0.54 cnr Elizabeth and Bourke in the early 70's. Caught the train from Sandringham Station and tram up Elizabeth St to Melb Uni. What great memories David, from a time when life was much simpler, telephones were rotary dialing, we could all fix our own cars and people thought political correctness was ensuring that election ballot papers were counted accurately.

Those trams are the only motorised things i want to see on the roads, apart from pedestrians and tram-travellers. From an ex-Melbournian who misses such - have had one or two trips to my dear home town and had some misty moments on them. Thank you.

I really didn't know that SPAM was even available here in the 1980's tbh, I like it how via the sandwiches they used a dough-cutter to cut out different ham shapes as it would be a way of impressing folk heh. I'd never eat that stuff now...
