Hey, I'm Sylvia, and I am passionate about sharing the joy of singing, and the magic of harmony, in community! I started this channel to share my original songs as well as cover songs with harmonies, that you can sing along to! I also create harmony tutorials to help people learn to sing in harmony by ear, and as a learning resource for my "Sing Again" community choir.
I believe that singing is our birthright, and it doesn't matter how "good" you are - we are all worthy of sharing our voice. That's why I embrace imperfection, and celebrate it! Because when we make mistakes, laugh, and carry on, we give others permission to do the same. After all, it's about the joy of singing, not whether we sound radio-worthy. Keep singing imperfectly!
That is so beautifully said by Marianne! It is certainly my experience when I have been in your presence, Sylvia, and anytime that I can sing with you is such a great joy!!
Nice video but I don't see this as "teaching" harmony it is a demonstration. But you can get the same thing or learn as much much listening to a recording?
Hi Sylvia, thank you for sharing this. I’ve joined a new singing group and we are using your video as practice to learn the parts! It’s been so helpful! Do you know what the starting note is for each part? We are trying to sing this a capella but get a little stuck right at the beginning. Thank you!
This is excellent!!! Thank you. My friend and I are planning to work up this song, so you have helped us a lot to find the harmonies. Love the way you laid out the video.
You should listen to the Iain Matthews version from 1973. Iain and Mike Nesmith wrote the arrangement that is mainly used. Iain’s 1973 album Valley Hi was one of Don Henley’s favorite records at the time, which is how the Eagles found the arrangement. On Iain’s version he sings all five vocal parts.
Very nice cover, singing and playing, of this classic Doobie Brothers song! Nice harmonizing! I subscribed and liked! I hope you will like my trumpet cover of "Listen To The Music" enough to subscribe to my cover channel of past hit songs as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F8jX8qrnyYU.html
Would have been better to isolate each voice so you could actually hear the different harmonies. This doesn't teach you how to actually sing the harmonies....it just sings the harmonies.🤷♀️🤔
