Respect to the professionals but the advantage of getting those tools and trying by yourself is that 1. you will gain experience and eventually learn with patience. 2. You can do as many as you have accumulated over time. 3. Pros are very expensive. A 1 inch ding repair cost $150 in my area. I already got 95% repairs on 3 dings of my wife's new car that happened on the hood that occurred just a week after she got it and a huge fender strike by a electric mopad run-away kid on my own car. (Quoted $600-900 by local PDR pros while the actual panel cost $350 painted... Not including installation). For a small fraction you can get those tools and have at least a 80% repair. Then bring it to a PDR pro for a final (and cheaper) repair. So, no harm on having those cheap sets and trying to save some of your hard-earned money while increasing knowlwedge. 😊
You got it, agree with everything you said. The key points of the video was, 1) it's pretty cheap to get started, 2) don't expect perfect results first time, 3) it's not THAT hard to take out simple dings, and 4) call a professional if you have a big ol' dent on your hands. Everybody's gotta start somewhere.
@@cloudsteele1989 It started as a sacrifice to God. Both are horrible, but there are multiple different types of FGM. Eighty percent of married women in Egypt have it done by doctors for cultural and religious reasons. Some types are more comparable to MGM, which also has different types depending on whether the doctor chose to remove all of his frenulum (the most sensitive part). Both originated in the same country. The health benefits are not what one would hope for and can be partially addressed through practices like cleanliness, which can reduce cancer. For example, it can also reduce STDs by up to 60%, but that's. because you're removing 60% of internal tissues and half the skin from the whole organ, when you can simply wear protection. There are plenty of studies that argue for both sides and I urge you to read them yourself rather than me writing 15 paragraphs and annoying everyone, but mgm does remove thousands of nerve endings and the most sensitive parts.

Tell me your worst garage injury! I'll go first - I shaved the top of my index finger off with a benchtop disc sander =( Happened in fraction of a second due to carelessness.
I like that you showed real struggle and not some "impressive magic" look-what-I-did-I want-a-cookie-now...like a lot the of these "pros" on youtube. I'm looking to do this myself. Good job!!!
Thank you for all those who supported the channel so far! It's been fun sharing my experience and chatting with you all through the first build of our channel. More Mini content and more builds coming soon. Take care, and appreciate y'all 🤟
painted lug seat not good; lug seat should not be painted....$4k for wheels? sounds like you are looking in the wrong place at the wrong wheels (you don't need MINI/BMW accessory catalog wheels). Not knowing your style or goal, there are plenty of good wheels under $400ea, shoot, even under $300ea. Wait for a big holiday and buy then. Ronal R50 Aero wheels 18x8 equals perfection 🥇🏁 for a MINI.
Who said it was $4k for wheels? I never said that. I said it'd cost OVER a thousand dollars, you misheard. I know you can buy good quality wheels for <$300 each. But the whole point of this build was to spend less than $3K total on EVERYTHING. Spending half the budget on new wheels and tires didn't make sense.
You just got a new sub! I love how efficient and careful you are when working on your car. How much roughly have you spent on tools that you use to work on your car? I need this type of therapy in my life man.
Thank you very much, really appreciate you. Haha I am not very efficient in reality - what gets condensed down to ~15 minutes is about 20 hours of garage time fiddling with things. As for the tools - man, too much. If I had to buy everything in my garage again, I'd estimate ~$20K or more. But if I were starting over again, I'd probably spend a quarter of that. Over the years you tend to just gather tools you only use once or twice, but buy only out of convenience.
great spec, the wheels ended up awesome! i don’t know how it much costs but i would have changed that chrome trimming to give that final touch. really enjoyed the series!
Im mostly a makita guy but do have both a makita ½ Makita and Milwaukee reason for this is the makita takes care of most things but for the stubborn stuff the makita cant touch the Milwaukee gets pulled out the makita will outlive the Milwaukee but it will move bolts the makita wont budge at all.
i like he idea of the series but i honestly hate people who use exhaust clamps, just have it welded will save u time having to fix a leak down the road
You have inspired me to ceramic coat my Mini myself! Last summer I wasted $375 by having a local shop take care of the ceramic coat for me, and they ended up destroying one of my window washer jets as well as the plastic clips holding in my headlight trim rings. I think it just goes so far to take the time to do the work yourself for things involving the way your car looks.
Ceramic coat products have gotten pretty DIY friendly over the years, definitely look into doing it yourself if you have the time. Its pretty satisfying!
I installed an eventuri intake manifold for my 2023 clubman JCW keep on lighting up the engine light and one time with the engine light on drivetrain warning came on and lost power. Trying to contact the eventuri no luck they have no customer support and the time is so hard to get a hold of them from England to California (north Berkeley). Although I bought from a third party ECS tuning, and also trying to get a hold of them. I just got it last March 2023. I should had get DINAN. I like your work.
It's not comparable to a JCW, which sounds way sportier, especially on high RPM blasting fantastic sounds. Also, if u want a sports car, at least get a manual man😅
Ahh, finally, a manual snob. I've been expecting you. Lol I bought this car for my fiance as a daily driver and she doesn't drive a manual. This series is just about making simple upgrades to the car to spice it up a little, but still have it function as a daily driver. I have a MT Miata myself for when I have fun, but even I don't enjoy being stuck in traffic with a stick shift. I bet you're right though on the JCW comment - Power should be the same, but yeah, I'm sure the JCWs feel much more raw and sportier. But again... emphasis on the DD part.
How are you getting on with the tune box now? Was considering something like to put on a stock Cooper S 2018 LCI and not doing intake or exhaust changes as these can cause problems with insurance in the UK, but have read a few reports of damaged engines and drive train components following remaps owing to the extra power and or changes to fuelling.
I love it. I use it when I'm the one driving the car with zero problems, but then again, it's a car with 10K miles on the odometer, so I can't speak to its impact on reliability yet. If I do have any issues, you can be sure I'll be on RU-vid next day talking about it, but until then... all is good.
Just one more thought - you can use different maps, so if you're really worried about longevity, you can just use the less aggressive max boost settings.
best I can do is about tree fiddy Haha I really did think about buying some used wheels, but I figured plasti dipping would make for better content. Also, I probably wouldn't even want wheels that fit within the budget I had set for this series. Really appreciate you watching and leaving a comment!
Well, i like your explanations, clear video, you reason out some of your choices. As an amateur, i think you're doing well.keep it up. Youll improve everything the more you do. I've been enjoying my '24 mini cooper S for about a month so far. Last year of the manuals.
Hilti is fantastic for fleet use. But a home DIY or even a contractor it’s not typically worth the extra cost for often not much more value, (and sometimes it’s simply not as good as DeWalt/Makita/Milwaukee). Hilti has a fantastic warranty for a very short window and a home user simply isn’t going to use the tool enough to get anywhere near wearing it out and having that warranty kick in. In fact in most cases Ryobi or store brand is plenty fine.
@@MasterOfNoneMechanic Well im not saying do it like the sistine chapel Get some paint and roller It will last you a while. I do it for my shop every few years I re paint it.
