@@WillStinton thank you Will! That was definitely the set of the day 😂 haha just wish I wasn’t on the paddle back out. The asym all the way! It’s been so flat this summer can’t wait to get some waves on it soon.
I knew a crew of black surfers in the 60's they never talked about race it was all about getting a great ride and some of them ripped. They got our respect. This is 2024. Put your attention on riding waves and forget about the rest and don't be a victim. Those brothers I knew in the 60's were surfers first and foremost! Be a surfer!
Cool video!! My intermediate everyday average joe quiver is: - midlength (something like chili mid strength or ci mid) - groveler/fishy type board for small waves (something like a pyzel white tiger, rnf96, twin fin fish) - squash tail thruster daily driver shortboard (something like a lost uber driver, pyzel red tiger, etc. Its not a true HPSB its got more width and vol)
Thank you! Dude that’s an epic quiver! Very similar to what I got going on. I definitely would like to add a mid-length though. That’s next on the list for sure.
I used to surf it back in '80 to about '84, it seemed to barrel more back then compared to when i see it nowadays, both off the first peak area and inside what we would call the slot wave. Back then the whole Sewer Peak and Rockview area were very different also as i remember
@@the_colbs I have a 2014 joplin Segundo but the derailer broke today 😂. I tried my mom's 2020 furtado and it's nice but I feel the fox shocks on the joplin are better. The one thing is the joplin ctd fox rear has lockout.
You two are amazing. Such an experience that only the most adventurous and strong get to see and enjoy. Stay strong and appreciate the love you share together. THANK YOU for sharing your life and adventures. L&K,S4W
Hola~! I Love how happy and excited you get Colby while biking this. I really love hearing the first person view you had. Watching people have fun and enjoy life like this is a lot of fun and joy to see. Plus you're just in breath taking beautiful scenery. lmfao Little dog! I SEE YOU CLIMBING SOME ROCKS COLBY. Let me know if you wana try some climbing.
I can tell you from experience that putting your equipment and “CARRY” on the bike makes the experience so much better and easier. More importantly comfort and the ability to carry larger amounts of H2O. BTW before you 2 succumb to the elements and dehydration, the town of Felton is only 20 minutes away!
@@the_colbs It worked thanks sm ! Was thinking of starting in the marin headlands and then heading up to samuel b taylor stake park. Were going to try to do it on our 90's specialized rock hopprs though :0
Sweet! Yeah samual b Taylor will be a fun spot to go to! The 90’s rockhoppers are legendary! Some modern suspension was certainly nice to have but you’ll have fun either way 🤙🤙 best of luck!
Dude that’s awesome! Very lucky 🍀 The kooky surf 🏄♂️ instructors at Cowells did not push someone into that wave Rt in front of you! Don’t laugh that shits happened to me! WTF. Are you teaching? 🤡
Dude thank you! Fortunately I’ve not had that happen and I’m so glad it didn’t on the wave 😅 maybe the longest one I’ve ever caught! Hope your getting some good ones 🤙
@@the_colbs unfortunately I’m in Florida and it’s flat as a lake! 😎🤙 I use to live in Santa Cruz! Got a trip planned to Puerto Rico this winter Yeew! BTW. I asked said surf instructor what he was teaching them by doing that! His answer was,man I’m just tryna make a living 🤣🤙 for the dream lmfao gotta say I don’t miss the water in the 50s lol wore my 3/2 twice last winter in Florida. ✌️
@@Ranger830 haha just trying to live the dream! Aren’t we all haha. Pueto Rico should be sick!!! Yeah, the cold water is almost a punishment in the winter.
Damn. Great place to do some riding and taking in the views and enjoy the outdoors. So fricking beautiful and amazing. Looks magical. Josefina is a trooper. The woods/ocean man. SO COOOOL! Man the earth, and california in particular.... So beautiful. WHAT!? haha attacked by racoons? lol. I like the drawings you guys collaborated on. Looks like you guys had an awesome experience seeing some awesome views! Trail of Thorns there at the end . Awesome trip!
Like? The=Dang Bro? Like I like the idea of surfing as a Fart! Old fart! 👨🏿🦯🦍😂💪❤️🤫. Yeah feel the pain of being stuck in the waves! It’s all racing in as a person and your color! Great White dog! 🤧🤙👨🏿🦯. You don’t change the subject of surfing with your colorful subject! Get in the Ocean Brother from another Mother of Thousands! 💪❤️🦦
Rain doesn’t effect waves to much, it’s more wind that plays a factor. Usually when it rains, especially the first rain, all the run off from the city streets pollute the water for 48 hours and often times surfers won’t go because their is a higher chance of getting sick.
@@the_colbs well I guess the runoff thing depends on the city no? I live in Portugal I don't know if we have systems built the same way But so, surfing on days where it's slightly raining is not a big deal?
Because you live in one thick everyday crowd , you re exposing these waves and places in order to bring them the same sad situation Its the most kookish thing, "surfers" like you dont deserve these travels, stay on your local spot and erase this video
I have 5’10” retro fish. That’s a magic board. Catch everything. I also have 6’ short board but really slow. Is that made for fast steeper wave? Definitely not for laidback waves
fish’s are the way to go in my opinion! Yeah short boards are generally made for steeper faster waves. They can be surfed in both but it’s easier to get them to work good when the waves are really good.
