The algorithm threw your video onto my feed, so I thought I'd give it a look. Low and behold, there's me (on the red RT) and my mate (in the orange hi-viz) at 13:58 to 14:01! What a random coincidence! May 2023 if I remember correctly... we were on our way to Portugal via the Picos. 👍
That's mental :) How was it for you? We headed for Spain and it rained for 4 days straight so we headed to Germany instead. Long ride but we made it work. Never considered Portugal. :/
@@DrummerOnTwoWheels Off to the Picos again end of next week, then doing an epic trip to Corsica and Sardinia in September. Cannot wait! Enjoy your Germany trip... where you headed?
@@theheroblob5036 we usually keep it super simple, book the ferry, Eurotunnel and head for the sunshine when we dock. Bavaria, Austria and Italy is the destination we all want but will have to see. 2 trips for you, must be nice :) Do you vlog?
Watching ya tours for the third time in three years. Hope this finds you and the family well and what’s happened to your videos? You chucked biking, nowt for years mate
Watch so much on youtube of people touring and sometimes wonder if their actually enjoying themselves! You're a breath of fresh air mate, having a giggle and taking the piss is what it's all about Just back from Spain on my shiney new XR, what a fuckin machine, just begs you to use them revs, the induction noise is addictive Just subbed
Wow, thanks. Danny. Yeah, I sometimes think people take it too seriously, I get comments about my language all the time. Fuck ‘em 🤣🤣🤣 It’s all about having a laugh, I tour with my dad and brother, we love to take the piss out of each other and who’s bike is best etc. Wouldn’t change a thing :)
Honestly, I do miss her a little bit but the difference in quality from Japanese to German is unbelievable. I saw her a few weeks back at a bike meet. Gave her a hug. 🤣🤣🤣
I had no issues what so ever, in terms of performance. Only thing I did notice (after 3 years) is that they weren’t as red as they were when I bought them 🤣🤣🤣
How are you liking these clutch levers I was fixing to order some on Amazon but I heard some good luck up your front break so now I’m scared just to buy any from my GSXR 600 2005
Really enjoying your 2020 tour Sam. Epitomises what touring on a bike is all about, scenery, bends, having a blast and a good laugh. Looking forward to any other you're going to post. What's your verdict on the S1000XR? Got it on my shortlist.
Thanks, Jim. Much appreciated. We try and go every year and discover new roads and scenery, we love it, as you said it’s what biking is all about. I love the XR, hit and misses depending on who you ask. Plenty of power, all the electronics, some vibrant more than others. My brother has the exact bike, model year and his vibrates much less than mine does, MUCH LESS. All in all, a fantastic bike, wish I’d have gotten her sooner :) There’s a 2017 and 2019 trip on the channel if you’ve not noticed :)
@@DrummerOnTwoWheels haha I know mate we seem to have the same conversation every year. Just affording more than anything, me and my brother are off to my dads in august and we keep talking about going further afield though.
@@DrummerOnTwoWheels can imagine mate! Was only watching the first 2 last night and thought it had been a while without finishing the trip! Keep it up pal! Love watching 👍🏻
Look, I love speeding as much as the rest of the human motorcycling race, but, testing the edges of 10mph traffic is not the place to do it. No wonder you got pinged. Find a road where you can do what you want without feeling the need to abuse others who don't see you coming because you're going to fast. I've ridden Busa's and Gixers for over 20 years and they are fast, so fast that it is your responsibility to understand how others might not appreciate how fast you are and not anticipate your movements. I observe this as a personal life saving measure, as much as it is a courtesy to others. Having ridden in the UK traffic I get it, small roads, too many vehicles, low speed limits. Get out of the traffic bro. Try going from Adelaide to Darwin mate, you can go (almost) as fast as you want.
@@DrummerOnTwoWheels Allready did, loved it. Belated congrats on the new bike :D I got my first bike now, a CB650F, and can´t wait for the snow to disappear!!
@@DrummerOnTwoWheels Will do man! Na, I`m in Norway. However as soon as this covid stuff is out of the way we`ll hopefully do a trip over to the UK. Always wanted to do a trip over there :)
Nice bike fella. Wondering whether to go for the XR as it looks pretty good for an Adventure bike. Seems to have a good balance between Adventure bike comfort but sportsbike performance but did you consider the BMW S1000R? Think that's my preferred choice as not keen on the Adventure bike general look i.e. more upright than my Fireblade but not lost the fun.
Go for the XR, mate. I’ve never been a fan of naked bikes, we tour every year and you need that wind protection if you ever end up on the highway. Go for a 17 plate onwards if it’s in budget, apparently, they sorted the vibes out with some dampers. R1200GS + S1000RR = S1000XR 😝😝😝 Best of both worlds.
