Engineer is one of my favored professions to play with Elementalist. I would love to write an essay about it so I will summarize the 50 page essay to one short point: Mechanist has THE easiest Low intensity builds for PvE end game by dropping the Kit for a Turret. Rocket Turret on Power builds and Flamethrower Turret on Condi builds.
Elementalist spear ability visuals feel great when solo. Not so much when you need to avoid some mechanic involving being able to see through the visual clutter to survive.
I can confirm that cele Engineer is fine with a spear. Ele spear is pretty much fun. I'm not great at ele but had fun experimenting with Cata and Tempest. There's a good core to the weapon.
I like all of the spears but my personal favorite by a pretty wide margin is Thief. I'm a Thief main so I'm biased but it solves so many inherent issues with Thief in open world. High Vuln uptime, lots of health sustain, lots of initiative sustain, works exceedingly well as a Shadow Arts champion solo weapon, pairs well with Fire For Effect on Deadeye for permanent AoE Quickness, Might, and Fury. Definitely the most fundamentally game-changing of the new spears for me.
The spear made me go back to my first character, a warrior. The rotation, the build, the range, everything feels so smooth and easy! I love it on Engi and Mesmer as well.
Elementalist is so me an meele mage. You are always forced to meele. In Tempest cause of your overloads and weaver aswell for the utility skill that is nice. Even the spear is bad in my opinion.............. they should rework some stuff like, when u switch to water you always get the boons from arcane mastery etc. This class is in some points so bland....... I´m playing elementalist since release... and I love to play it, but it always feels half as good as other classes in therms of DPS , survivability &&&
PoF is easily my favourite, everything about it was truly expansion worthy, we board a flying ship and head to a distant land to go fight a god. new Especs, massive beautiful desert themed maps, deserty armour sets and the story was great.
@@RaptorJesus. Yeah i agree. In fact, the way the structured having to discover new mounts was brilliant. I felt like I was playing zelda, having to "level up" before crossing certain jumps, which led to the next mount/treasure. None of the other expansions have really treated us to that.
@@nautilaz oh yeah totally forgot to mention the mounts! :P HoT had a bit of the "level up" thing, but it was more annoying with gliding and bouncing mushrooms, i didn't really like the vertical nature of the maps, and Tangled Depths is a god damn hellhole when you're trying to reach a certain spot on the map XD
Very surprising that you rated SotO as "S" tier, above everything else in the game??? I doubt that you have many other players who agree with that rating, as most people I know and have seen in videos about SotO, don't like it and would rate it below all other expansions, and also below most or all of the Living World seasons. The reasons, or features you listed about SotO don't really seem to me to uplift it into the top "S" tier spot on this list. Maybe you can explain a bit more in these comments, why you put SotO so high on this tier list?
I thought the thumbnail was rage bait for sure. I feel like I have a much more positive opinion of SotO than most and even I wouldn't rate it s-tier. Let's not even speak about putting it above everything else. Just goes to show how subjective this opinion is. Btw, I got SotO after it was fully released and I think that made a big difference. Especially the story seems to feel much more cohesive, now that you can play it all in one go.
I went virtuoso and I find the meta build really boring. Been trying to come up with something else that works well but I'm not having much luck. It was my favorite class when I got back into the game and it's disappointing what it turned into. I'm guessing I should have gone chronomancer if I liked core?
I also agree with the HoT & PoF choice as a bundle, unless the person buying them has enough spare cash to buy the $99 bundle of HoT, PoF & EoD, plus all of the Living World seasons and Icebrood Saga included in just one purchase. Since the Living World seasons and Icebrood Saga can be purchased via the Gem Store, those can be purchased with game play, making gold and converting it to gems, instead of real money. So, if you have enough disposable income and not so much disposable time, the whole package of 3 expansions and 4 living world seasons for $99 might be the better choice for some people. Specially if you enjoy the story, and know that you are going to play through all of it in the order it was released.
heya, wonder if the build now is still good, also on the viper stats (instead of the ritualist armor ones) can i use rune of the firebrand on them and instead of celestial rings, can i use ritualist ones? thank you in advance
Great video. I am a bit confused about how to Enhance a legendary skill in a Renegade. For example, Breakrazor's Bastion can be enhanced to provide a barrier effect. How do you enhance that skill? The wiki says about Band Together but it is vague and didn't say anything how would someone know if a skill is enhanced.
Thank you for the comment and in regards to the question, when you activate one of the utility skills for the Kala legend, the next one utility skill will be enhanced, so basically skills from 6 to 9.
I do this too many times, I this it is to see why others would choose the thing that I main, I think it is the same in real life when you buy something 😁

In front left: tempest symbol and image, front center catalyst symbol and image, front right has weaver symbol but the image is core ele.
I guess because of the utilities and build variety, but warrior is decent nowadays too. I remember this being true a while ago as warrior had only DPS builds.
I started at 2022 and im still having a blast, normally i dont last a year on MMOs because it wont scratch the itch, but dang GW2 satisfied me like a $20 walmart hoe.
@@TheEightDomain it's amazingly toxic... the main problem is the low pop. forcing Bad- mid- good- Godly players to all play together and with each other sometimes. You have like... Bronze ( which noone is playing at) Silver-Gold ( where 95% of playerbase is at) and Plat.. More ranks and more players are needed to fix this issue.
@@akhsdenlew1861 EU spvp doesn't have low population, they get 2 minute queue time even its dead hour for them, yes it is toxic but not as toxic as other MMOs i played, there are some toxic players but its probably the same person in different alt.
@@TheEightDomain EU doesn't have a lot of players, it has dedicated players. There are 100 players, but those 100 play. So the que is fine still. In the end of the day any competitive mode in any game will be toxic. What i dont like with GW2 is that the game itself and it's systems don't do anything to "protect" the innocent players from that toxicity. In both WvW and in PvP. WvW enemies shouldn't be able to just see your Tag and wisper you, same for pvp. And ofc there is absolutly no reason for an all chat to exist in pvp, and no reason at all for enemies to see your tag and who you are. Everytime i see someone streaming, the moment they go into the game, the first thing they do is just to see who is the enemy... since it's just 100 players, they all know each other. PvP has this... this mentality like...Like you live in a village, in the balkans.. lol
@@akhsdenlew1861 gw2efficiecy says EU got 80k more players than NA server, As someone who plays on both servers because I test latencies I can confirm that EU has more spvp players than NA, while I was in NA the queue time takes 2-3mins even on peak hours (10mins+ in dead hours) and I get same people every match while in EU im getting instant to 1 min queue while in peak hours then 3minutes - 4minutes queue on dead hours while getting different people each match.
you spent way too much time in water and fire - for DPS role, you only ever overload air - the point of fresh air is to spend as much time in air, and specifically overloading air, as possible.
Cata has a trait where you gain a lot of energy every time you change attunement, fresh air cata always having air ready, you almost always have energy, even cap it.
Im so unsure.. when i Download the game i was sure i want to play as a necromancer but than i tried a guardian in fell in love with his supportive spells somehow but i see him always ranked low in pvp :-/
I have decided to come back to GW2 to check on the new expansion. For that I have made new engi and oh man… cele mech with shortbow is immortal. I can even kill legendary mobs almost not loosing HP… mech is taking damage for me and I heal it and buff it :) As for simple dps build for strikes or fractals I go as power holo or power mech with sword and shield and still manage to do 30-33k dps and I know it is not good but it is FUN
Should be able too have more options with alts on homesteads: -Able to give them emote command (dance, pose, sleep, work e.t.c), group command would be really nice too. -Give them "fake" backpack so they get the backpack visuals.
LWS3&4 were peak storytelling. Map links to Aurora & Vision + meta's are great. Peak Maps & Meta's are all still in HOT. I'm fine with the staggered release, but Anet just need to pitch future expansions somewhere between these 2 benchmarks.
All one needs to do is look at how many times the Meta events in Soto is being done to see that it DOES NOT WORK. You can easily go 4+ hours without anyone doing them in the mean time Octovine is still being run 24/7. The events in Soto are even less popular than EoD's were. Once people no longer need XP for masteries, they mostly move on just like with EoD. A meta, taking over 20 minutes to do thanks to insane amounts of health on everything and rewarding so little has been a massive step BACKWARDS and what is the next weak tiny little xpac bringing? Dungeon raids...wow. I am not buying it, only a few in my guild said they are and they are saying just for the homestead with spear being a nice bonus. Anet seems to have hired a bunch of people that do not play the game or remotely know what players are playing. If a home and a spear that any class can use is your draw then they must be running out of cards in their deck.
@@DemethVLK The server is what I am on and on the server the meta is rarely done except at peak times and none of your BS will change that, this shit has been complained about on the official forums, the official twitter, discord and reddits starting a few months after Soto's release so stop trying to make it sound like its not happening. Go do that shit on a WoW channel, where players are so fucking toxic and delusional they will say anything to make the game sound perfect. This is GW2 and we have a time honored tradition of actually liking our game enough we want it improved so point out its flaws.
The release schedule was a failure too. One map spread on 3 releases is terrible. No map should be split in 3. It would have been better if they released only Skywatch Archipelago at launch, 3 months later Amnytas, 3 months later Nayos part I, 3 months later Nayos part 2.
What I do not like about Soto are the way the mastery points were earned. Most of them were straight forward, but some were tied to group events. Which is fine if you play when the content is first released and plenty of people are around. If you are behind, which I frequently am, it has been difficult doing those group events when not enough people are there. Now I am stuck having difficulty finishing masteries. Seems to me that less people return to play Soto. I realize that most want things to be more challenging but I like things to be more casual and soloable. Also the story was disjointed and I did not feel as connected to the characters as in previous content. That being said, I am looking forward to the new expansion!
Pretty think the same. Hopefully they work a lot on the story side. I'm a big fan of good stories. Gw2 never had a brilliant one in my opinion, compered with other ones like FFXIV, but Soto was very bad....so many filling parts ...pfff
@@The92Ghost e.g. by staying too long in the other elements which makes you lose alot of the crit dmg bonuses in Air . E.g. water 2-3-3-2 with autos or fire 2-3-5 while the correct/faster way is water 2-3 or fire 3-2/5(alternate) and then instantly back to air.
