"The best thing about this game is the miniatures." ah really?? That does not mean a good game. Does mean an amazing miniature painter.... which he really is... bloody fantastic! painted miniatures.
I have the Test of Honour sets and my understanding is that these are produced by Grey For Now or is this only ToH 2nd edition , unless Warlords have become involved somehow only they have a habit of turning minitures into nasty resins and bendy plastics
I've read this magazine since the early days... issue 20 something. I can check out Vietnam just fine.. but some folks can't.. It has always been the pet hate from years back when one issue devoted most of it's articles to one area. If you aren't into the chosen topic then tough shit. This is not good enough anymore. Treat your readers with care and spread out topics across various issues.
Lisa Smedman wrote an article on Vietnam War tunnel rats? Are we talking about the same Canadian female fantasy author? I hadn't realized until now that she's a game designer. Fascinating.
This badly needed actual miniatures for scale comparison. The repeated 'or 28mm' gave the distinct impression the channel was shilling for Zvezda - its a 1:72 kit, it is inherently unlikely that it would work with 28mm figures and there is the obvious problem that 1:72 (20mm) is an orphan scale for wargamers.
What happens in the case of a drawn melee ? our first time playing these rules last Friday and we had two drawn combats , and were unsure what , should be the result ? mark
Pardon the intrusion, but Tarawa was only the second major offensive of US troops during the Pacific War, in 1943. Tarawa was very brutal and there was an intense, prolonged battle over the beach. But it is all of 1 square mile of sand, barely above the waves at high tide. There was nothing BUT beach.
Ordered two copies of Wargames Illustrated, ended up being sent two of the same sprue for ‘Hail Caesar Epic Battles’. Disappointing and unimaginative of them, you would have thought whoever packed my order would have thought to send two different sprues?
Plane flies over flashing light. What's that? That's the V for victory sign, three dots and a dash. Dot, Dot, Dot, Daaa! Hey ain't you ever heard Beethovens fifth symphony? So, at about 1:30 minutes in we see the new V for Victory game by Studio Tomahawk, and he calls it 5 for Victory. Should it not be V (Vee) for Victory. I have heard this somewhere before, so am I missing something, or is there a significants of the 5?
Could someone please explain to me why in 2024 with most everything produced digitally, we still get a sprue with repeated sculpts? Why can’t they all be different- I mean, its one sprue per faction, an issue with irregular armies like Gauls. We got more variants on epic 40k sprues from the early 90’s. Just seems needlessly lazy to me.
