Every manufacturer suggests a service at a certain mileage, so yes as a technician you recommend the service based on the mileage. Just because you think you don’t need it that doesn’t mean they’re trying to scam you. If they don’t recommend it and your car breaks down you would be quick to blame them for not telling you smh
😮5:06 "once the oil is thoroughly drained..." Replace the oil drain plug. Did anyone else notice there was still a bunch of oil coming out?? That's why I change my own oil.
65 in Texas lol, now I start as a tech tomorrow, hopefully helps pay my way through flight school and business school. Beats working at a restaurant lol.
So wait.... you have to put it in 4WD High before you can return to 2WD? I thought you had to be going 40+ MPH for that... Also, you have to put it in Drive to engage 4WD High before you can switch back to 2WD?
5:25 wait, use a band wrench to torque? Toyota can filters are usually 20 ft lbs and there are torque wrenches for that That was really good that you used a rag while adding oil. some oil guns are fast and toyotas have a baffle that might splash, making a mess
As someone who's been an assistant manager for one location for years at a locally-owned shop, and now I'm a crossed train tech moving up to Location Manager, all shop regarding things for Strickland Brothers 10 Minute Oil Change, and I can safely say my experience as a QL tech, that company is in shambles. Absolutely slave labor, with majority of locations having subpar techs who lolligag, and are informed wrong. Always ask questions to the techs, the more informative they are, the more trustworthy that location will be. If they push product in slightly quick and adamant way, that is a sign of them viewing you as commission, money, a number. If they aren't providing the proper information on the way these things are being brought to your attention, decline the offer because 80% of the time the tech isn't looking out for your well-being, but looking to make commission off your car, but if they presented you this service with validation, and facts upon inspection of the part it's majority of the time quite important to either replace that part, or take note of the techs point. Always avoid lube shops who'll get your car out in a few minutes, unless you are sure they do proper work.
Dealers pay any idiot with a wrench that will accept $10/hour to service your car. That is why the quality and service has gone down dramatically over the years. They cant find master techs like me because I ran away from SCAM dealerships. Scam warranty times. Crappy benefits and long days. 17 year Master Volvo tech here that proudly left last year.
Worst experience ever they never fixed the issue along with that they kept my vehicle for several days. When I went to pickup my vehicle he gave me a piece of paper and told me take it to Chevy mind you I already paid them $679.00 for them to take my hard earned money what a digrace . I took it to Chevy and was out more money. I called spoke with the manager he then contacted his district manager, he offered me 2 free oil changes mind you they took $679.00 for a service never completed 😒 I reached out again never got a call back from either one. I also contacted customer service support you got it right NOTHING. Do not go there a joke and waste of time and money but I guess this is the Midas way of doing business steal from you and let other dealership fix the problem you paid them to do. If someone know how I can get help with this matter please reach out Please.
Lol yeah right. no one is doing this in shops, they get it done fast as they can for flat rate pays you on each job you gotta hurry that shit up. that is why they screw it up so often.
