You have the right mindset to improve. I need to get back into more official top split sessions myself. Just wait till you hit a low period where you become a crash magnet for a week or two, not being able to complete a race without dying, lol. Now that's a true test of your spirit)

Tried that & I just can't get the car to turn the fastest that I can do is 15.34-36 but then I just can't dialnit down without the brakes

You're right, the Aero Push when in a pack is really bad. When I run test sessions by myself I can fly around the track. However, to get better at controlling the IR18 in traffic, I use the AI for practice. When I get into dirty air, it becomes a beast to control. I have a different wheel than you (Fanatec McLaren GT3), but I would be MOST APPRECIATIVE if you could do a short video on how to map the buttons to use for in-car adjustments (like what vital to have in a Fixed race). Great video and I subscribed!

Hello Mattie, I have watched a few of your videos would love to learn more from you. I use to race the Indy fixed a lot of years and then they introduced the Aero or dirty air whatever they call it. I became so frustrated with that aspect I quit driving them and went solely to Nascar. My first love is the indy cars though. I never knew those in game adjustments could really help. I frustrated couldn't understand why people could pull away and manipulate the air to gain the advantage. It seems you have figured it out. I sure would like your advice or where I could go to learn more about how to deal with dirty and in game setups to help at each track. Any help you could send my way I would greatly appreciate it. I ran againt that guy that ran 2nd to you this morning Stefan Harding very good driver. We use to battle with each other over 9 years ago lol. I watched your race and you flat out dictated that race vbery impressed. Please contact me name on Iracing is Sonn T Helms

I was looking for a guide to get to 16 seconds in qualifying and I found a guy running off pace in a cheap suit. Pretty much youtube for ya.

I mean of course it's track temperature dependent by a tiny bit, I feel like Langley runs on the evenings anyway. But the fast guys I've seen (which is like mid 16.550 but the top split today was a 16.207 in qualifying) just get down to the apron before halfway in 1&2 and keep the car half on that to get the rotation and the throttle on exit there is pretty simple. Then I've noticed for 3&4 they still get down to that apron but basically only their left tires are touching the yellow line and they get a bit tight off mid corner to slide up and keep it straight. That's what I've noticed, but it might be temperature dependent. It's an annoying track to run anyway outside of a league or the advanced since everyone will just freight train you when overdriving and lapped traffic is a nightmare.
@gregbertsch2853
@gregbertsch2853 2 месяца назад
Well this guide is useless for anyone who wants to compete at Langley. If you use his advice you will be lapped in 10-15 laps in a top split. I qualify in the 15.9s at Langley track conditions dependent. When it's slick 16.1-16.2. His line is totally wrong. I barely touch brakes around this track. It's more about controlling the slide. 1-2 hook the yellow line slide your rear around wait a sec for rear to catch then full throttle off to wall. Basically same through 3-4 but hold lefts on line until your full throttle off. I am running 16.5s at end of races tire wear is not an issue once you figure it out. You will have to catch the car from going around if you carry to much speed entering. Not difficult once you get the feel. It's all about entry speed hear to get maximum drive off. You may need to back off entry to find the right entry.

Good video, my personal best here this week is 14.870 and I'd say the biggest mistake you are making is not holding the body better in the middle of the turn, you need to grip to that bottom to get keep more speed
@MattieSinclair
@MattieSinclair 5 месяцев назад
For sure the biggest challenge for getting properly fast here is being able to get consistently right to the bottom without hitting the apron, which is where I always come unstuck.
