I've always wanted to be a RU-vidr since I was little as a viewer, experiencing all phases and eras of the RU-vid platform. If you like watching what I make, hitting that subscribe button would mean the most to me.
Hey man I just recently lube these and they feel sooo much better but I'm having issues with my stabs. They are still tinking. Did you do the holee mod? I actually put bandaid on the plate and lube it with 205g0 and I feel like the 205g0 just gets pushed out so I'm thinking of going with dielectric grease but before that I'm going to do the holee mod and add bandaid to the wire section to see if that helps. Trying to make this as cheap as possible otherwise the board sounds and feels amazing after lubing and tape/foam mod.
Sorry for the late reply, yes I did holee mod these stabs with bandaids on the stab stems and I used Krytox XHT-BDZ for the wire. Dialectric grease works too.
@@Jamjo. No worries, thanks for replying. I redid the stabs with holee mod and put bandaids on 2 of the stabs and the rest with foam double sided tape cause I ran out of fabric bandaid on the PCB where the the wires touch, saw that on Luke Mason video. Again I used 205g0 cause I didn't want to spend more money. But my it sounds amazing and I love it so much.
can you explain to me what cherry keycap interference is with the the north facing rgb? I always hear people say that but it doesn't make sense to me! Also planning on getting this or the red one for my first keyboard I want to customize, I dont really know much yet, but I assume this is hot swappable right? I've seen some sites say it is and others say its not!
This keyboard doesn't have cherry keycaps so it should have no keycap interference. With keyboards that have the LEDs oriented to the top of the switches, using cherry keycaps can make the sound and feel of the switches worse due to how low the profile is, hitting part of the switch earlier than the rest of the keycap. It doesn't affect the usability of the board. A good visual example is this video here from :3ildcat: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bh93sXRh4x4.html As for hotswap, this keyboard IS HOTSWAPPABLE, if you access the link in the description, you should be fine.
@@Jamjo. ah okay that makes sense, so they are still doable but just possibly wont sound as good! I was more worried that it is impossible incase I do ever want to try them out! and okay awesome, thank you so much!
Im new to keyboards so sorry if noob question but i found some keys i like the acko cs labender purple how would i know if those work with this keyboard?
Yes, Akko CS Lavender Purple switches work with this keyboard. The board itself supports 3-5 pin MX style switches, and the switches you mentioned are compatible.
You should carefully twist the case like you would an ice cube tray, but make sure you’re still careful and gentle with the case as to not break anything. I wish you the best of luck and I hope this helped prevent the death of your hands!
thumbs up. I'm looking at potentially getting this board instead of wooting 60he. I was looking at the red switches, would you recommend the yellows over the reds? and what are your thoughts on the "why's" for ether? and does the opinion stay the same if I were to change over to the gateron low profile switches of red flavor? - with the unique keycap style, am I wrong in thinking the low profile switches would work?
The Gateron Yellows are personal preference due to the “slow spring”. If I wanted more of a lower actuation force/lighter press, then I would go Gateron Reds. However, this would NOT be compatible with low profile switches as they usually have their own type of PCB. If you want fast inputs you want a lower actuation force, then the Wooting 60HE seems like a game changer for gaming since you can change it. Gateron Reds would be good for gaming on this keyboard, but you won’t be able to use a low profile variant of those switches.
This keyboard is SUPER underrated 1khz polling and NKRO this board is BIG for rhythm games especially at high levels where millisecond precision and accuracy is what's separating a play with god accuracy from a mediocre one
If your Samsung tablet has a USB-C connection, then you can use a USB-C to USB-C connection. However, I’m not sure so I would check the Amazon listing.
I recently bought a XVX profile set, very high expectations about it I really love cherry and XDA profiles but XDA is actually a bit taller for me. So this combination seems to be perfect.
does anyone know if this kit on amazon is still good? im looking for a budget one for now and i dont wanna spend too much but some people have told me its outdated
It's a little bit outdated now, but it's still a decent option for the price. There have been more and more cheaper and affordable options coming out like the CIY KBM68, CIY GAS67, Gamakay CK68, and Gamakay LK67. The ones I've listed are around the same price or less, but they may not be available on Amazon. You could find these on Banggood or KeebMonkey.
@@Jamjo. do you know if you can buy just a pcb and put it in my gk61 already? im just trying to find the best way without spending too much money since i have a keyboard already just not mechanical switches
@@vstepph9039 You can buy a PCB and swap out the one in your GK61, but the ones for the GK61x cost almost as much as the board itself. - www.aliexpress.com/item/3256803441896393.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.5b053c00oI9rkF&mp=1 - www.amazon.com/GK61-Independent-Driver-Wired-Tyce-C/dp/B07TBWVK6B?th=1 - www.aliexpress.com/item/2251832816320831.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.786c3c00u3a6z7&mp=1
Do you think this is still the best option for the price range or has there been better releases since this video? I'm considering buying this as my first custom
Since this video was made, I definitely think more affordable options have come out. If you're on a tight budget I would say the GK61x is still a valid option although a bit outdated. For 5-10 bucks more you could check out some of the Gamakay kits or newer GK68 kit. There is also the Nuphy TES68 and KBM68, but they use batteries and are strictly wireless.
