It is my opinion that sterilizing the mycelium in plastic is a bad, bad, idea. I think one should use glass jars. The plastic releases very serious toxins when it is heated and they cause cancer. The mushroom will draw this into the body of the fruit and it will have been put there by the sterilization process. I have seen people create baskets of bamboo to sterilize the medium, andthere are 1001 ways to do it without plastic. Picture a hot day and you get into your car and turn on the A/C. The heated plastic blows the toxins right into your face, that's why we are told to throw away any liquids or food that has been in plastics in a heated environment. Please fiind another way.
