40:19 This is the same thing Jeanne did to the spirits of kids comprising Jack the Ripper in Apocrypha. 43:11 I think's it's a reference to Shingen-ji Temple in Iriya, also knowns as Iriya Kishomojin (not to be confused with another Shingen-ji Temple). Apparently, it was founded on 1659 by Nichiyū, the 20th head priest of Kōchō-ji Temple. I guess in one of F/SR's "what-if" worlds, different circumstances lead to its founding. As for Kishimojin herself (or Hariti if we use the non-Japanese name), the basic story as I know it goes something like this: Kishimojin was a demonic creature (maybe rakshasa?) who kidnapped human children to feed her own kids. Buddha stole and hid one of her children to teach her the grief she was causing others. Accepting that her actions were wrong, Kishimojin reformed and became the protector of children and women in childbirth. Also she switched her diet from human kids to pomegranates, so that's why they are present in her design and area. There are variations of the tale. In one she kidnaps kids to experience motherhood, rather than make them into a meal. The rest of the story plays pretty much the same. In another, she's good from the start. This Berserker version (whether due to her Mad Enhancement, Kikakucho fusion or both) seems to oscillate between her various depictions.
It's been... how has it been 7 years already since the Apocrypha anime? Anyway, yep, I definitely had trouble remembering Jeanne doing that, but I'd also expect it from her. I was wondering why Iriya sounded so... significant to Kishimojin, but learning about Iriya Kishimojin made it make sense, even if the real world temple wouldn't show up for another few years. It's very Type-Moon to fuse Kishimojin with Kokakucho to manifest her as a composite of her various incarnations, and then make her a Berserker to showcase all the aspects in one character. And that explains all the pomegranates, though I wouldn't know how they're nutritionally similar to... human children as a meal. Thanks again for all the educational write ups! Researching the design decisions and history with Type-Moon is always entertaining, but these short but deep summaries are really what makes diving into the lore with people fun!
Well then, you learn something new every day. I shouldn't have doubted Type-Moon's ability to make use of proper historical facts, even if they don't go out of their way to explain it up front.
25:22 There's a lot of weirdness with character ages in this game. Iori should be 38-39, and Tsuchimikado Yasuhiro should be 39-40. Do they look like they have a one year difference? Takao Dayu (if she's the second one) should be 10-11. Dorothea is fictional, but her father isn't. And he's 35-36. Must have married much younger here than he did in history. Zheng Chenggong at least looks plausible for his 26-27. Tsuchimikado Takatoshi also seems fittingly young for his supposed 24-25. Chiemon is completely fictional, so there is nothing to really contradict. He was a kid during Shimabara Rebellion, and the higher side of that, as far as I can tell from the flashbacks, so... 10-13 back then, 24-28 during the game... with some wiggle room. And Yui Shousetsu has the in-universe excuse to not look her age, that is being a homunculus... so the writers went out of their way to establish in dialogue, what her presumed age in this setting is. Dorothea in one scene muses that by all accounts, Yui should be over 30. Historical Yui Shousetsu would be 45-46. Still, whichever account we go by, it is reasonable that Zheng would expect Yui to be older than him.
Samurai Remnant is definitely very generous with its aging. Yasuhiro looks correctly aged while Zheng is plausible. Iori looks like he could be early 30s at most, and even that's pushing it. Yui being historically 40s while being in-universe (albeit theoretically) 30s feels so hilariously off, but I suppose that's homunculi for you. I guess with the information given, plus Zheng never really seeing Yui till now, I can see how he'd make that assumption.
The Bosses are Still Cool Charlie Mc'Donald (Robot battle and best Voice Actor) Cloe Walsh (Best Clash) Margaret Moonlight (Best Music and Best Voice Actress) And Alice Twilight (Saddest Death )
But the Peony I don't like that Katana why 1. Is an Expensive Katana (300,000LB$ Rlly) 2. It's a Heavy and Long Beam Katana (I Preferr Fast, Close Range or Dual Wield Katana)
Honestly, I'd love to be able to edit more and cut out chaff. Unfortunately I don't really have the time or resources to basically go through videos twice (or more). Plus, I prefer providing an uncut adventure as much as possible, so that my progression and the journey can be followed in complete. Really, I'm just trying to squeeze out value from every minute I record.
It basically turns off consequences in battle. I want to interact with enemies in combat, not straight up ignore what they're doing so I can mash attack.
I'm getting around to it. EXTRA was a lot of time and recording to get all the moves. The game itself took a lot of time to get through in the first place!
from team crimson squad homura looks like she is zoro's relative because just like zoro have three swords homura have six and one more at the same time and have brown skin hikage looks like she is related to Yuuki Terumi from Blazblue because she have green hair, yellow eyes and uses knives and when she smiles she lets out a snake's voice and eyes and haruka for her to be a ninja and uses a puppet to fight she looks like kankuro and sasori from naruto but none of these two have bold personality and dont have sadism also dont uses black holes experiments
from team hanzo school ikaruga looks like she is vergil's another child katsuragi looks like she is sanji's lil sis because in combat shes so good with her legs and also likes to fondle asuka's breasts like a pervert yagyu looks like she is kakashi's relative beccause she haves white hair and uses a eyepatch to hide her sharingan that lets out demon squids legs and then daidouji looks like she is a female version of jotaro from jojo and also have a craving for stronger opponents to give her pain like azrael from blazblue
It's definitely the coolest feeling one, but I don't know about objectively best. If it's clearing out enemies, Flux is the simplest and most efficient answer most of the time
@@NebulouScholar I think that even though it’s not the traditional: ability that kills people type ultimate, it feels cool as shit grappling to enemies and slicing them up in slow motion
I don't think that's true. I did all the training. I mean, I have a playthrough on this channel where I'm sure I did all the training. I also played through another time to get all these recordings.
This was one of the more intimidating ones for me to work on. There are so many characters... so many complex motions... so many precise inputs. I'm super proud I managed to pull them all off in the end.
Good to see someone recorded all this from such a weird game; I had this game as a child and played it a lot. One thing to say: There's actually one more fury attack exclusive to the Opponent in story mode: When the "Dancing Needle" guy fights for Shurabe, he uses "Triple Dancing Needle" for that fight only.
Oh, that's good to know! I'll have to look into that myself. There's not a lot of info on the game anywhere, so I wasn't aware that was a thing, thanks for the heads up!
From what I remember, most of the grabs are the same and generic (minus Grevious, should've included that one). I'm not sure what you mean by finishers?
Very nice. A really unappreciated game with a combat system way more in-depth than it seems on first glance. Adding on, something I never see used by anyone that plays this are the beat mixed combo attacks (or whatever they're called) If you throw a punch/kick in the middle of a sword combo, it has a different attack depending on how far you are in the combo. An good example is if you low slash 3 times with any sword, then throw a kick, Travis throws a spinning heel kick that has massive knockback and usually causes a knockdown on most enemies. The most useful one to know is if you finish a combo and throw a punch/kick (punch for high combo/kick for low combo) just before the last hit lands, the screen will darken and the enemy will instantly be dazed and Travis will automatically perform a wrestling move on them. It is essentially a free on-demand insta-kill on any enemy, no matter how much health they have. It doesn't work on bosses, however.
While the moveset feels faster and expanded, I don't particularly think it's improved over the first game, primarily with beat attacks not being guard breaks anymore. I think the beat finisher stun is only guaranteed when your meter is maxed, so combat feels more mashy in general. Either way, it was still fun to play.
Thank you. So much for this. This game feels sooooooo much lighter, almost slippery coming from NMH1, and with no training room getting used to the kits was HARD
Blood Berry has the worst battery life and It has the slowest recharge of all the weapons however, it has the highest damage output of Travis' weapons and good swing speed. Just try not to do much blocking with this weapon and especially against range attacks. The second hardest to master, but the best one once you know how to manage your battery. Camellia Mk.III is the most balanced weapon of the roster. it has short Range and does Less Damage than Blood Berry but it swing Speed is more faster and has more battery life than Blood Berry. Can knock enemies Airborne and continue damaging them when the Ecstasy Gauge is maxed. Can Inst-Kill anyone with in range daring death blow. (I think) Peony Its has good battery life and has the average damage. However, it has the slowest swing speed in the game. This weapon does have a unique gimmick however. The reach of this weapon extends the higher Travis' ecstasy gauge is, giving it the longest reach of his beam katanas. Combined with the stun locking capability and you'll be able to stop them from playing the game. Use this for mobs and Just make sure you don't get hit. Rose Nasty is debatably the worse one by far, it's Camellia with worse damage but has the fastest swing speed, longest combos and the best battery life. The only downside to this weapon is its low damage output but makes up for it with it combo potential. Use this for mashing those fukn buttons. By far the hardest beam katana to master. I hope this helps.
first thank you for giving that witch an Enuma Elish to the face. second god they really poured everything they had into this game didnt they i almost shed a few tears at the end there and im not ashamed to admit it. third wonderful job dude best ending😁
It's amazing just how good the story and writing is for CCC compared to the original Extra. I know it may never happen (especially nowadays), but what I wouldn't give to see it adapted in a remake that isn't restricted by PSP limitations. Thanks for following along the ride, I really appreciate it!
@@NebulouScholar always dude. oh ive got a question for you what are your hopes for fate extra record? personally i hope they give us a 4th servant like in ccc.
A fourth Servant would be great, maybe the Berserker referenced in Gil's ending. Or possibly a Rider could be fun. I've always thought that Iron Hand Gotz is prime Heroic Spirit material, so it'd be cool if he every shows up, likely would fit either class. I'd really like them to rework the story somewhat. The framework is fine enough, but they could add more character moments and scenes instead of just making you grind out the dungeons. I want them to keep Servant Matrices as important, thought I wouldn't know how they'd do that with a revamped battle system. I'd like more side characters to hang out with (and progressively lose as the HGW goes on) with their own Servants, especially the Extella newcomers. They really should retroactively make Extra Record tie back toward Extella, since if you've only played the games, it's such a disjointed jump. And if CCC really never does get a remake (they're definitely not planning on forgetting it, seeing as the FGO event went and brought the Sakuras back into the fold) I think it'd be cool if there were a subplot/story diversion where you address CCC events, even in summary. Make it as much of a complete package as possible.
@@NebulouScholar i completely agree ive only played the extella, samurai remnant game, and fgo myself so i was a bit confused about the story from before the umbral star and how it ties in to extra considering what the characters are saying the story goes in extella. honestly it might tie in to the manga more than the game now that i think about it. i would like more side characters as well like seeing random servants just walking around the place where you can talk to them and learn their histories i like when you can learn about servants histories in games. if they did do a new usable servant i would like either Archer or Rider Heracles they never use him for anything or maybe Perseus i dont think they have him yet as a servant sorry just had a thought i would like a Lancer Sun Wukong that would be fun
Blueberry Cheese Brownie was the one I got the most across the two back-to-back playthroughs of this game I did 2 years ago. And now I know the names of all the wrestling moves, too. The low charge attack for the Tsubaki MK-III is beyond busted. It wasn’t until the end of my second playthrough that I finally learned how to perform it on command. It came really in handy for the Henry fight, and it’s extremely useful for countering his instakill.
I'm not really a fan of Blueberry Cheese Brownie, so I know I'd get annoyed if I got that repeatedly. Definitely prefer Strawberry on the Shortcake, if not just because of Super Saiyan Travis. The Mk-III's charge move is almost too good. It makes fighting Jeane bearable and Henry extremely fun. Sad it doesn't make a return in 2.
Looks like the skin is TESA_JACK074, which I actually didn't know before. I don't know if the bike itself has a unique model name, since I doubt it was designated to Jack before he got it.
I was watching The Preacher Plays DD2 last night, he was travelling with your Pawn which was good to see. I sent a Steam friend request after watching thinking to also feature you/your pawn on my stream too. I don't usually use Steam friends so I understand if you don't either but perhaps you could share your Pawns number so that I could include him using ingame search. Either way thanks for the videos of both this and Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, I have enjoyed them both.
Oh that's super cool! Do you remember which part he was travelling wish Ash? I never really use steam friends, but I did forget to put my pawn code out in my descriptions, I meant to. Ash's ID is 4UTS3JQR9O1T Thanks for wanting to take him along, and thanks for enjoying my videos!
this is why i HATE Kiara i thought she was a horrible person from the fgo ccc event what with her basically trying to literally screw the bloody planet then i find out stuff about her from looking up the manga based on the extra timeline and now this! I am sure now that she is the most Vile Sick and Twisted being in all of fate history across all timelines. Sakura and BB didnt deserve that darn it
Yeah, with my limited knowledge, I sort of just went with the "haha, lewd horny nun is the villain" characterization. I never realized just how AWFUL she really was.
why am i not surprised that its all Kiara's fault. i feel like she lives to make a mess of everything she touches. oh does Anderson have new things to say in this route just wondering?
Kiara certainly lives for... something. As far as I've found, aside from his last Matrix that I missed before, I didn't find any new Anderson dialogue.
Yeah, I figured there had to be a Gawain fight somewhere, so I was a bit confused when he got blasted by BB. Turns out he's a bonus ch1 boss that I would not have been able to handle.
I didn't actually test that out. I assume Leo ends up saying something like "well I shouldn't go bullying the poor, it's unbecoming of me. I'll find a way for you to repay me eventually." And then the game drops the matter.
Ah, sorry. I am doing a second run through for the CCC route ending, but I'm keeping to Gilgamesh so I don't need to level grind again. I'll also primarily be focusing on the route choices and changes instead of showing a full second run. I also don't plan to record another full playthrough with another Servant, that's a lot of time!
@@NebulouScholar sorry i really should have thought of that first before asking it is a bit of an unreasonable request to make a new playthrough with a new servant. ah well i am excited to see the new route with gilgamesh i actually havent seen it yet thank you and i cant wait for more.
No worries, I would've asked the same. If a playthrough didn't take over 50 hours and different Servants gave more than flavor dialogue, I'd consider it. Alas, it's a bit much for me to record another full playthrough.
@@NebulouScholar i can believe that considering how often you upload videos already. well anyway thanks for replying to me can't wait to see more tomorrow👍😁👍
