I have same coffee machine and bottomless portafilter. I am now searching for a grinder. I recently bought the baratza encore but it's not a good one for espresso. Is Graef cm702 appropriate for espresso with the bottomless portafilter? Thank you
Hey I have a Joe Frex 51mm portafilter for the dedica but it only takes up to 15 grams with the current grind setting without choking. If I grind coarser to fit 17g it's really sour. I've experimented a lot and in order to get a nice sweet and complex cup of specialty espresso I have to grind really fine and fit 15g tops.
Hey there, Love your videos. Did you modify the pressure? have the exact setup but my dedica pressure is too high so that I get 25 to 35 g extraction after just 10 seconds :( Any recommendations? Best wishes
hi Carter Tien ! I just received my Graef 702. When you use your bottomless portafilter, what setting do you use on the Graef? I see 4 on the video but do you use the additional washers? for my pressurized filter holder, I am at 5 and already it is very fine! thanks if you can guide me :)
hi! Perfect ! this video makes me dream! I have a question: I see some users who add washers to grind finer, is this mandatory or do you use the factory settings? I have the same machine but not yet bottomless and I would like to buy a used CM702 sorry for the translate, I'm french :)
DeLong Dedica comes with 51 mm portafilter bottomless or the other one. Please explain to me and everyone fir their benefits as to how you filled it with 17 g coffee. That's impossible. Please do not mislead people. The maximum a 51 mm Delknghi Deduca bottomless portafilter can take is 14 grams coffee.
I have the same coffee machine and grinder. For the pressurised basket (black portafilter) I need to grind very coarse (around 15) otherwise I get no extraction! I watched another video on your channel where you use the pressurised filter and grind very fine (less than 5). Also for the bottomless filter, if I grind at the finest level, I get no extraction, does it depend on the beans? Thanks!
I have delonghi ec 820. Do you think I could use the same handle (portafilter) like for 685? It is has also 51mm, 3 ears. I am not sure about thickness of the ears. I have tried to search on the internet, even talked to some sellers on aliexpress, but noone helped me out...
I guess there are many of us, but there's only one Amazon 😀 I've got the same dedica, portafilter and scales. Amazing! Nice video and good extraction! I think a blend of arabica and robusta (80/20) should give a better crema and keep the cafeine level on the lower scale.
@@od1286that is not really true. Buy fresh roasted coffee, from local coffee roasters, not prepackaged supermarket crap that has a bbd of up to 2-3 years. The difference is huge, both in crema and taste.
Umm, where's the rest of the coffee? That's not a 30ml shot and you can travel all across Europe visiting 10000 cafes and never receive such a small shot. This is some Montreal type shot and I guarantee that pressurized or non-pressurized it's going to taste terrible.
Hey, I have the same setup, but when go under 15 grind size no coffee comes out of the grinder, I need to hit or shake it to get the coffee out. Also even if I manage to grind fine that much, I can't get any espresso from the delonghi. So how do you achieve grind that fine and produce espresso?
Hey Did you do anything special to get the ec685 to process such fine grinding? I have the exact same setup and as soon as I go under 15 in the grind level, the machine will choke.
I am having the same machine, same grinder but I cant get any good results with the same settings. I bought a lot of coffee (fresh) and wasted to do some research and my machine always gets choked. :( It starts to do something around 13-15 grinder settings but still nothing good is coming out. I have darker roasted coffee, I am using tamper... What do you think I should change to get a better results?
Thanks for tips. I was in that more fine grind size less water though and will be less watery. But my grind size was almost on dust but water comes too quickly, will try experimenting more with grind size :)
Hi! Thanks for sharing. Have same grinder, same espresso machine, but with bottomless portafilter coffee doesnt cane out. Tried to grinding less fine, also not tamping, only dosing and at leat less grams of grindend beans.Same results.Nothing came out. Any thoughs? Thanks in advance and gratis for your video.
with bottomless portafilters you need to tamp down with some pressure, if nothing is coming out that means your grind is too fine and its choking the machine
@@6kbps thanks for answer me. I adjusted coffee grinder between 5 and 7 and came out a 23 sec extraction. It s strange to read on internet people has to modify graef to grind more fine while i use it at these measures. Maybe its a V2 machine 😅 Anyway thanks again!
@@midalboraz I have the same issue right now. 16g coffee beans on 1-5 setting on the Graef chokes the Delonghi. (with a bottomless portafilter) Sure it depends of the coffee beans and tampering but cant imagine how people need to modify it.
