Honestly, I cannot even believe they do that, & that plastic strap thing looks like a torture device. I have an ex that had it done to him around puberty age & he became an addict to pain killers & H ever since.
If there is no acute medical need, and no birth defects, then it should be simple: leave the child's body alone. I hope more people speak out about this too!

When I refused to participate as a nurse, there were a few of us who made a big deal about it and we got a TON of pushback from the OBGYNs at the hospital (who were also making money off of the procedure). Shortly after they stopped doing the procedure in our hospital and started doing it at the 2 week check up. Now I don't see OBGYNs doing it as much anymore and I've even heard a few (very few) pediatricians speak out against it.
Thank you for the insight and congratulations on your decision leaving that decision to your son. Social expectations and (cult)ure can be strong and most people conform to that.
It's MGM: male genital mutilation. The Jews adopted the practice when they were in Egypt. It serves to maintain Jewish identity and separateness from the wider culture. Kind of like the dietary laws make it difficult to dine with non Jews.
@@francinelong2264 it seems like a lot of desert dwelling societies adopted it--which makes sense, if sand is a problem, that certainly is a solution. But it isn't one I'd personally want done to me.
Trying since April 21, healthy diet has not helped, neither had positivity. Always depends on the person and WHAT their issues are. According to my fertility specialist I have a 50% because I have very mild pcos and 'possibly blocked tubes' despite tests showing no blockage. What they didn't consider was my level of stress which is my biggest issue here. No amount of lettuce is gonna help that tbh. I've watched so many of these and none have even slightly helped, it's very very individual, deel like thus gives people false hope especially with fertile people commenting saying they just got pregnant. That's obvious since starving cr@ck heads get pregnant.
Many Jews are choosing not to circumcise their Babies and Circumcision is barbaric and it's not Practiced in many countries. God created our Body perfectly. It's very horrific😢
@@ShamindriVithanage there isn't research showing that pineapple is dangerous--this is a common misconception that I address in my video about pregnancy myths.
@@EveryMamasMidwife maybe it’s a myth. But there are four girls in my family who had gone to 4 gynecologists in 4 different countries during our pregnancies. In the lists that we were given papaya and pineapple were amongst the food to avoid during the first trimester. So it’s better for others to check with their respective doctors, as something that agreed with you could be potentially harmful to another? Just my opinion!
@@ShamindriVithanage it is always a good idea to check with your doctor, but there is good research that ripe pineapple is in no way harmful. Evidence Based Birth did a great podcast about it. And in this video you wouldn't even be pregnant yet, the embryo would be getting ready to implant.

Congratulations. So happy for you and your family. I’m 40+5 days with no sign of baby. My cervix is still high up so cervical sweep wasn’t possible. I’m still hoping for a natural birth so fingers crossed.
Hi! I appreciate your videos and being so honest. One of my coworker friends is a midwife as well and had her first baby via IVF and she stresses about these facts as well. It’s so good to know. I am waiting on my transfer 9/26/24. In so excited but so scared. I have to go with a c section because I had abdominal myomectomy 10/23 and where the fibroid was it’s just too risky: hoping I can be awake . Good luck with everything and baby!!
From one midwife (who is also undergoing IVF) to another ... I would do AFI & dopplers in addition to the CTG monitoring for reassurance. Also you can try sex as semen has been shown to contain prostaglandins which has a similar effect to a membrane sweep. If you are not in labour by K41+5, I would let your midwife to do an ARM and see if that can get you going - at least you can still attempt your home birth - worst case you have to go into hospital for a formal induction, but hopefully you can still avoid the c/s. @@DuncanMcCloud I did the NST yesterday and honestly it stressed me out so bad watching my own NST I think mentally I just need to move forward with induction. I had my 6th membrane sweep yesterday and sex has yet to prove helpful (for me at least) so we are going in today to talk about a Cook's Catheter.
@@tarabithia4509 I tried listening to hypnobirthing once with my last pregnancy--it took me about 10 seconds to feel irritated lol. Glad it worked for you, though!
I had to be induced at 42 wks nothing helped 😂😂😂😂 I pumped, walked , did jumping jacks , drunk raspberries tea and nothing !!!! My 2nd one didn’t want to come out 😂😂😂😂
