I appreciate this being said with compassion and sincerity. It offers the beginning of insight that will hopefully lead to conversation. Despite some of the comments, racism and ignorance is real, active and demonstrated in the comments. Difference is GOOD and necessary within humanity. Let’s not pretend it doesn’t exist or matter. It makes life beautiful and ugly, which is how we live and grow society.

What a bunch of bull. Trump was adored amongst black Americans until he ran as a Republican. And.... he did more for historical black colleges, more for inner cities in the economic, tax free zones, more for all minorities, lowest unemployment rate, and the metrics go on and on. This is just looking for a bogeyman. Y'all just have not proven that there is any systematic racism anywhere. I live in Tennessee, and I do not know a single racist. I will say in Memphis, many Black people don't like white people. And white people strive to be liked by them. I'm sure they're a racist. But I haven't met one of them. If you all think this man is doing a good work, you are all deceived. He's trying to make people of color look pathetic. I want them to look heroic, because they are. Just as anybody have any color can be in the USA.
As a Black person born and raised in Jim Crow Mississippi in the 50's and 60's, I commend Mr. Wise for his erudite comments of 'Whiteness'. One can't overstate the significance and impact of having a 'white male' speaking with conviction and determination on this pervasive and pernicious human invention.
Certainly right there about AA. I found a deeper walk with God through the 12 steps and alcohol/drugs became secondary in the sense that I am the problem, rather the false self, substances merely a symptom.

Republican nominee Donald Trump praised the three board members who supported these new rules, all of whom previously questioned the result of the 2020 election that Trump lost, as “pit bulls fighting for honesty, transparency and victory.” The rules seek to alter the role of local election officials known as superintendents, whose job is to gather the vote tallies from the polling places within their jurisdiction, add up the tallies, and report those numbers to Georgia’s secretary of state. For at least a century, the Georgia Supreme Court has held that this duty is “purely ministerial” and that these superintendents “have no right to adjudicate upon the subject of irregularity or fraud” in an election.
