Underrated dunk. 93-96 was Pippen's athletic peak. I saw this game on MSG. If I am not mistaken, Pippen scored 26-points in the first half, but fizzled out the 2nd half.
The bulls struggled during the first 65 games jordan was retired they were only 34/31 but they were still in the sixth seed and the reason they were up and down was because they lost Scott Williams and horace Grant plus ron Harper their bog time free agent singing because of his knees was on longer an offensive player he only he success playing along side Jordan.
Without pippen the bulls don't have the success they had 6 titles in 6 trips to the finals it's a team game and pippen was the better team player then Jordan he willed his teammates better and leaded them to
False. Bulls could've won 6 with KJ or R.Miller of the Bulls drafted them instead of Pippen in 87-88. Pippen was a very important piece to the dynasty. But let's stop with the revisionist history of Pippen and his impact. Jordan was the better and more impactful player on team success. 6FMVPS speak for themselves
@aurora-cj6ui Facts. R.Miller and KJ both led their teams to multiple Conf.Finals with players not named Jordan. Miller led his team to the Finals in 2000, and KJ made the Finals in 93 with Barkley. If Barkley doesn't choke against Houston in 94 & 95, he most likely has at least 1 ring. KJ balled out against Houston in 94 & 95. Barkley had a 2-0 & 3-1 lead in those series. But you don't think Jordan could've won win with KJ or Miller on the Bulls?
@@sideshowbobsaget8876 Teams win. Jrdan is not a team. Adding all the superstars doesn't make a super team. Team is much more complicated than teenagers tend to think (or whatever they do instead). Pippen is the CENTER of the whole franchise. Everything revolved around Pippen's ability to play total game (in soccer terms). And there was Horace Grant, replaced by Rodman. Those were the two legs the winning team was standing on. This was the only way Jordan can do his favourite volume shooting. He can not play for the team, he can only chase stats. You can replace MJ with anyone you like and the Bulls would still win. You take out the backbone (Pippen - Grant/Rodman) - the team losses (Orlando says hi).
In the Bulls Knicks 90s rivalry, the Bulls would routinely make their best plays in MSG. Just slide into NY and put their feet up on the couch. Routinely. Always embarrassing the Knicks in their own house. That’s the best part of the domination to me.
This was on the Bulls annual "Circus Tour". When the Ringling Bros Circus comes to Chicago they tied up the Chicago Stadium/United Center for a few weeks. So the Bulls would do their west coast road sweep. Suns, Nuggets, Clippers, Lakers, Kings, Blazers then Sonics. FWIW: The Nuggets beat this Bulls team at Denver on the same road trip just after a tough game in Phoenix. MJ was so mad at the loss, he had Denver marked on the calendar for when they came to Chicago. Naturally they blew Denver away. As for this particular game, these Blazers were too focused on trying to win the Bulls respect. You have to remember almost all NBA teams were playing the Bulls this way and they knew exactly what to do. Steve Kerr said the start of this season was by far the hardest because they knew it was the last. Took them awhile for the players not named Jordan to find their mojo.
All I remember about this game was when Jordan and Pippen grabbed and pushed Rodman to the floor. I didn't know they came back from a 24-25 pts deficit. Amazing!
