And I'll tell you why; Apaches are built heavy and they always have been. To win races in 8-12 foot seas they need that weight. 47s and 50s could hold their own with 3x1650-1750s. Or go with twin staggered 2500-3000s from Steve Morris.
Painted it to death, though? 😂 Fantastic boat and work! He has the finances to make it like HE wanted it to be. I am more laid back in the "appearance-department", and would have let the way it runs/performance do the talking, and also have a bathroom and a desent bed for weekend trips. I wonder how the perfomance could be with two Scania V8 diesels, two-speed (or three) gearboxes and Arneson surface-drives?........... Would have tried to extend the range by "a lot", and have Scotland/England within comfortable reach. (From Northwest Norway)
