I have this sound file from the CD, with the name "SPLASH". EDIT: In case you didn't know, now (2024) they're making a LBA1 Remake, with the same director (at least involved) and same composer. There's even a trailer.
The very first video game i ever played. I was 4 years old and learning on how to use a PC. I'm very confident that this will be the last tune i'll hear when i die of old age.

Вот это настоящее метро, каким это знал и помню! Красивые наземные перегоны ещё не утыканные заборами с шумозащитными экранами, и с поездами типа Е/Еж/Ем. И плюс к тому же старые добрые наземные станции до варварского ремонта, убивший старый их облик с конца 50-х - начала 60-х годов. И Филёвская линия к тому же не оканчивалась только на Кунцевской, а была длиннее на две станции. 😢😢 Ностальгия!!! Раньше было однозначно лучше!!! Никакие новые Москвы или новые станции метро или реконструированные старые станции вместе со входами на них не заменят мне то самое метро, каким оно было в конце 90-х и начале 2000-х. Спасибо автору этой пленки, которую он записал на кассету и оцифровал! Очень и очень ценные исторические кадры, которые передают атмосферу того, что безвозвратно ушло в историю!!
I remember "playing" this as a kid and being amazed that it was infinite yet so small. Now I look and the landscape and think it's a visualization of some type of noise field.

Played that game on my new Pentium 1 MMX computer, was one o the best games released at those times... Pure childhood and awesome memories, enjoyed the excitement of this song while installing the game...
It makes you feel and think about a lot of things... Fear.. Anger.. Happiness.. Sadness... Love.. Both games nail these core emotional connections strongly that by the time you have finished the first game and you play the second and you watch that intro FMV it makes you tear up.. Its such an impactful thing.. The way that he tell you that passage of time.. Its great stuff. Even without the context I think that intro to 2 is just a heart string puller.. You immediately understand everything and a relationship is at its core.
I've heard this tune when I installed LBA2 back in the day when it came out. Never got it out of my head, and now - 20+ years later, I finally find it again. Thanks, youtube :)

It's the official art. You can see the same (albeit trimmed) image on the game's Steam page. I don't remember where it's located in the game files though, assuming it's on the disk. Could be regional dependent, I guess! It's been ages since I've uploaded this video.
Thanks for posting this! I remember first starting this on my PC back in 1992, a tiny exe file, and I was AMAZED! Some extremely clever routine, as this was so waaay ahead of what games of these days had to offer.
Does anyone remember finding out about the bug/hack that let you go to white leaf desert even before rescuing the weather wizard and the storm cleared? It was actually still raining on the white leaf desert too!
