Modern Tap water comes from plastic pipes (pex tubing) and plastic lined faucets. Filters and filter jugs are plastic. I think at least avoid aged, or UV exposed, or freeze exposed plastic to start.
I wouldn't drink tap water anywhere. Always have a filter. Check if your area allows fluoride in the tap water, then you need a filter for that. If not, you need a filter to filter out other harmful chemicals like chlorine et al, amongst other toxins. I only drink from glass. My cold water in the fridge is in a glass bottle. My carry drink bottle is stainless steel.
Want a safe bottle? Plastic is not 100% secure and doesn't like heating. Glass is easy to shatter, so you have only two options: stainless steel and titan. Those are the only safe options for you and your kids. As for the kitchen - use cast iron and stainless cookware and you'll be safe. If you go for stainless then 18/10 Stainless Steel will be the best option.
it's funny because this tactic is exactly what is used to drugs like bath salts so the drug lords are always ahead of the game and the authorities are always playing catch up
anybody have a solution to this? . first of all, we can’t wait for the science to show the chemicals we’re using are harmful - the rate at which we incorporate ‘regrettable’ chemicals into our products easily trumps our ability to study their effects . second, there is the massive convenience of using plastic products, coupled with the imperceptibility of their effects - that is to say, you don’t get noticeably sick when you use plastics, the effects are not very noticeable . hmm... maybe the answer is an individual kind of answer . as an individual, if I have a concern over the chemicals in plastic products, at great inconvenience to myself, I can refuse to use them . anybody have any other ideas?
Harvard prof. They have been exposed as doing fraudulentvscience. This guy presents no evidence whatsoever, only claims that plastic is bad. Much like CO2 causing climate change, never present the science. Important questions: are these particles harmful? Are they not inert? Is it even possible that they CAN interact, on a molecular level, with cells? Has that been observed, simulated in the lab? If we accumulate so much, ~20 grams per day, 15 lbs/year, we would gain measureable volume and weight but that does not happen. So we must pass it in poop, sweat, breath, urine? Cars, microwave, electronics, everything is plastic.The only hope is to live in a cave with limestone filtered spring water and grow mushrooms and blind fish....like Gollum in the Hobbit.
