Overheating in that zone, try having your heating elements further from the plastic. This way it will heat up much longer but also much more consistently.
I really impressed by the construction design.. The flip over.. It's very simple yet efficient.. You only need to add a simpler way to clamp the material and it can be the best design.. Good job!
