Watching The Clone Wars pilot movie in theaters was a bit of a surreal experience for me - and not just because of the animation style. 😂 I had been up late the night before packing for my 4th year of college. Dad and I loaded up the car, went to see the movie, and left directly from the theater after for the drive back to school. I may not have been entirely awake for parts of the movie. 😅 The animation style took a little getting use to. I remember one reviewer of the movie likening Kenobi's beard to a snowplow. 😂 He wasn't wrong, but it grew on me. The improved quality of the animaton in later seasons also helped. I still enjoy the Clone Wars movie. Grew to love Rex and Ahsoka so it will always hold a special place in my heart for intoducing those characters. The novelization of the the movie by Karen Travis also added a lot to the story for me. I appreciated how it told more of Rex' side of the story and his heroic (almost) last stand with the remaining handful of Torrent Company. Loved the character of clone medic Sargent Coric from those early Clone Wars series novels and am disappointed we never got him in the TV series proper.
I wonder too if the wait to bring back the last season of CW was possibly to get around any potential legal issues with CN. Giving it 5+ years to sit in the shadows to avoid any blowback as opposed if D immediately had moved season 7 to their network. If you think about it, CN would have seen that as a large loss in revenue and it just feels like it could have turned into a case. The wait time may have been a tactical business decision
They did air a shortened season six on Netflix the next year (2014). I'm guessing those episodes were mostly finished by the time the cancelation was announced.
My god people are actually trying to cancel rhcp when they listen to rappers with serial killer level kill counts and think they are funny and cool people if they think that’s ok to support then we can listen to any damn artist we want and not have to worry about them being canceled cuz if you can’t cancel that then nothing can be canceled
Did Cartoon Network only air/distribute The Clone Wars and Lucasfilm paid to produce it, or did CN also produce it? I've always been curious about that.
I was never sure of the exact business relationship. I was under the impression it was produced primarily by Lucasfilm but I never knew the specifics of the agreement with CN
When I swipe up to playback video clips on the GP10 in the bottom right corner the option of only mute or not mute exists? How do you increase the playback volume? Assuming this is not an option? Or is this hidden somewhere in the setting?
If Disney intend to renew The Acolyte, can they please let us know, now? That way I won't waste anyore time hoping they'll sort themselves out and return Star Wars to what it used to be.
It doesn't even look like a fantasy show. It looks like a soap opera. Those promo shots are terrible. Its a fashion show for females. As the world turns. 😂😂
I love the Chili Peppers. Love them. Agreed that their past behavior is scummy. Agreed that they should be held somewhat accountable. It's just a matter of time. Though, they seem mature enough to face that music, they are clearly not the same people as they were in the 80s. I'm just tired of people saying that certain people have no talent at all after a S.A suit. It's like when Foo Fighters did an AIDS denying concert in the 90s and, despite them learning from that mistake and doing everything they can to make up for it, including donating to AIDS charities, people say that the band have no talent at all because of that period of time. It's understandable if you don't like an artist but saying they have no talent because they were accused of something seems icky to me. Yes, people need to be held accountable.
I was growing up during this time. I was born in 1984 and I remember riding in the car hearing them since I was actually quite small. I went to see them in concert and everything when I was in high school, and seeing this type of behavior is disturbing. But, this type of behavior was much more socially acceptable back then. I watched late night tv as a young woman and I found a lot of things offensive that I saw. Nobody talked about things like that then. They just found it humourous. I'm not trying to defend this behavior, but I think that we as a society should look at things like this and call them as we see them at the time.
8:50 oh my god, you really have no idea how people are on the inside. Most of these women that are in this field. I complete narcissist and like the attention. When I look at her, she is more than just “smiling on the inside”. This is just another video of people who want everybody to be exactly perfect and if they’re not perfect and not exactly following social normative rules, they have to be canceled destroyed and killed. Bro you are a bot, a tool, a Square, I don’t know what phrase to use to get it through your head. Or even if there is words, they could help you understand. But you’re part of the Uniformity, brought up by The kosher education system. Just another part of the system. You’re like an agent off the matrix.
I watched the video and the clip groping the actress is pretty wild....but c'mon this is literally the rockstar lifestyle that was co-signed, propped up and celebrated by society...call out the absurdities of the past, thats fine. But the songwriting trope about hot underage girls existed long before rhcp and there's a looooong line of judgements to be had...just imagine what they got away with in the 70s 😳
Yet, they give Led Zeppelin a pass, they give David Bowie a pass and say Trump did nothing wrong. But as much as I like the RHCP, they do need to be called out.
@@marcen12 idk why my comment got cut off...but I was specifically thinking of Led Zeppelin haha. one of their fan favorite lore stories is about group fucking some girl with a fish....yiiikesss and especially deplorable as their fame n egos were built on "borrowing" ideas from other musicians. Idk if Jimmy Page is even capable of playing an original rifff
Check out the interview where he sexually assaults Erica Ehm on tv. I used to be a big fan, and I loved Flea! It's the reason I'm playing a '77 Musicman in my profile pic
So, here's the thing: I really don't care about bands I listen to (directors I watch movies of, authors I read books of) being "good people". There's a judiciary system, which I'm not part of, that takes care of that. Caravaggio killed someone back in his days. Still a pretty good painter to me.
I agree with you. I explained to some Acolyte lovers that each person who signed would need to donate above what an average person would earn, as marketing also has to be taken into account. We still don't know how much the show cost overall.
What happened to them? Back in the 80s they were great. What did I know as a kid and before the internet and news distribution. These dudes are scumbags.
How many songs about California, heroin, and the singer's shlong can a person possibly sit through? That's all they ever write about. They've always been awful.
Have you actually listened to a song from them after 1995? Like, have you? They have 13 songs about California, 14 songs about drugs and about a dozen about sex. Out of 246 songs. That is not even half of their songs.
Im surprised that people are shocked. Rockstars partied. Everyone of your favorite bands has dirt and skeletons in closets. Even ill admit my favorite bands have dirt but I still listen to their music
This is sounding like when people hated Nickleback and wanted them to pay for their crimes. Life sentences for their music? There are people like Five Finger Death Punch, Drake, Falling in Reverse and Kid Rock doing worse music but the Chili Peppers' music is far worse? I'm a RHCP fan and they should answer for what they have done in the past but I'm sick of people downplaying people's talents when something happens.
Why do you ignore the true meaning of Rock and Roll? Do you wish to criticize in a weak effort to sanitize that which is wild, erotic and dirty from its very genesis? I am not defending any of the actions discussed but why are you playing the puritan? There are countless beloved artists in Rock who have engaged in disgusting sexual behavior. It is what it is. RHCP are only keeping up their end of the deal with the traditions of the artform. You don't seem to understand what its all is about bro.
Shows that came back after cancellation in some form after massive fan pressure: Firefly got the movie Serenity and Farscape got the 4 episode mini-series The Peacekeeper Wars. Neither were perfect, but they offered some kind of closure. I don't think The Acolyte has anything like as large or as rabid a fan-base of those two shows, and that is ultimately where it will fail. This was the first show that was made solely for 'the modern audience', and I think it's figures show more than anything that this audience isn't big enough, or just doesn't actually watch the shows that they noisily advocate for. Without the traditional audience to bolster those figures, I just don't see how this is in any way sustainable for the studios to cater for them exclusively.
