The ultimate car modification challenge, making a Volvo 460 all wheel drive and turbo charged 5 cyl, pushing 400 horsepower.
And, and it's on a budget. This gut do NOT have deep pockets, so by subscribing, like and comment on my videos it would help me out tremendously to finish my project.
My 98 I just acquired had just a little bit of very dark oil left in the case 🙄 Just flushed and 2:34 filled it yesterday. Seems to be a happier vehicle, I’ll flush & fill it again next weekend.
Even though English isn't your native language you speak English exceptionally well!! Keep up the good work!! Thanks for the help also. I was able to repair my generator perfectly!!
Men bra uppdatering.
Don't know, bought it together with a trans but knew it was probably toast. Drain the oil from the AG and see how much is coming out, it hold 0.7 lit (23,66 oz) if you get less then that out your AG is probably toast.
Hi, i have a little Yard King 4 stroke 24.5cc and i realized the valves are all one part with the cylinder SO is there a path for the pressure to go up into the valve area past the rods and out through that hose there as they also have another hose and nipple on side just under piston area which sends out lot of oily goo into the air cleaner then it goes up a tube and gets sucked into the carb and burnt. Makes the carb throat a little dirty perhaps. So 2 hoses going to Air Cleaner. question- If the gases from crankcase cant get up to the top out through that top hose i HAVE to have that oily hose breathing going to A/Cleaner and CANT Block it off? or crankcase gases will explode seals? So other option is maybe connect a fuel filter to end and let it take all the crap and change it but it would also allow backflow back into CC?. so no good? Any ideas.. thanks?
Would never have thought of tryin dishwasher soap but it seems to have worked well for the most part. A sandblasting cabinet could make short work of that pan though as well as the baffle plates and pretty much any metal parts. I have a love hate relationship w/catch cans, EGR valves and PCV valves. Don't want any left over burnt and unburnt carbon particles dumped back into the engine. The EGR is dumping abrasive carbon particles back into the intake and the PCV valve is dumping an oil mist into the intake, which over time, leads to an oily film covering the inside of the intake tract which effects intake flow efficiency. Blocking off the EGR port and removing the PCV valve completely is a better choice to me. Then feeding the PCV valve port and the other valve cover vent along w/a newly created block vent into a baffled catch can which then gets vented to the exhaust using vacuum created by the exhaust itself is my solution. Old school baby!
Well don't have a sandblasting cabinet, but I'm building a wet blast cabinet (some day in the future sigh). Do not have EGR on this enigne and Swedish law requires a closed PCV system on all gas engines newer then a certain year model. So I really would like to redo the PCV system on this engine but it's not that easy when you have to have a closed to atmosphere one.
@@SwedesGarage US law requires the emissions system to be complete as manufactured too. But, I don't hafta go through the same scrutiny that you will :>)
We have my old home made parts washer in Justins shop and some very worth while investments he made for it were a good flowing submersible pump and a 4 outlet manifold for the pump that allows us to use a flow through brush, 2 different sprayers (1 long and 1 short) and then just a straight hose for flood coating the parts you're washing. But the best thing he got for it is some parts washer solvent that works with a ratio of 4oz of solvent to 1gal of water and then he got 2 heaters that sit in the pump tank and heat the solvent to around 100-120f(38-49C). With the solvent nice n hot it almost melts contaminants off aluminum with the flow through brush. Still hafta spend lotsa time scrubbin it with the brush though. And, since this is a water based solvent it also works better than most parts washing solvents at removing dirt and dust on pats where that stuff accumulates. Looks like you have a flex shaft dremel type tool hangin over your bench. These are great for takin a small SS brush wheel to get into some of the harder to clean areas and will make short work of the larger areas. Usually finish up cleaning by hand scrubbing with some red Scotchbrite and the flood coating hose, then use an air nozzle to blast accumulations outta the corner areas once they're softened up by the hot solvent. We invested in a sweet heated ultrasonic cleaner and use the same solvent in it for small to medium sized parts which does an amazing job in about an hour. However it's only an 8gal (30 liters) size and is too small for heads or an oil pan.
I have a 1974 Bolens tractor with the 14 hp HH 140. It looks fifferent than what Im seing here. I subbed. I would really like to buy a complete plug n play motor. Are you in the states or Scandansvia? Dandahrrmit. I think your english is good.
I'm in Sweden (Scandinavia), what I can recommend is getting one of those cheap Chinese engines (motor). I replaced my 8 hp with a used Chinese 12 hp found online with less then 5 hr run time for US$ 250. I've had it for 3 winters now without any problems, and it's powerful too. Check out @ 1:34 in this video (sorry it's in Swedish): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qgiXJcQr7B0.htmlsi=dXRSXGV4rqmoM2Uq
There is a drain hole in the block, but for the oil that gets pushed in to the filter housing there was no drain for that oil. That's why I drilled one.
When you chucked the tap bit into the drill press and turned it on I was screamin "NO, don't do it!". I've seen machinists tap with an end mill at super slow speed and even that makes me scared to watch. So glad to see you were just using the drill press to start the threads into the part by hand, whew!! When tapping into aluminum it really helps to have some tapping oil specific to aluminum. Though the aluminum is soft I've had many close calls with the tap wanting to bind up when removing the tap and that's where the right oil really helps ;>)
For your 4th bolt on the shifter, is there enough room underneath your shifter base bracket to use a flat pan head allen bolt from underneath and then tack it in, essentially makin it a stud that can be nutted on the top? For your E brake cover you could try heating the plastic to then flare it out enough to clear the brake lever bracket.
Damn Kim!!! You have no idea how we think alike, yesterday I thought about heating the plastic on the e-brake console to widened it. DAMN IT!!! Why didn't I think about making the forth one a stud. Well it's to late now 😞
Tack för tipset men det skulle bli betydligt mer jobb än att modda 460 konsolen: spct2000.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/1997-volvo-850-centre-console2.jpg
Have no idea if the PCM is using the speed signal for more then sending it to the cluster and using it for cruise control. Guess I'll find out the day I'm sending the PCM for reprogramming, you know have to remove the anti theft thing and some other stuff.
Need to find that big rat and feed him some bad cheese man! Glad to see you're back at it hot and heavy buddy. One suggestion and I know you haven't finalized your wire routing yet but, on the pass side, that bundle of wires coming from the firewall and goin up front. You might wanna reroute that bundle under/behind the overflow tank and below all those sensors instead of overhead along the top of the fender. Just a suggestion but it might look cleaner that way ;>)
Thanks for the suggestion, but routing them on top has to do with how they are attached to the rad-support. And also as far away from the IC piping that's going thru the hole you see under all the relays.
Hey buddy, one old school method for bending tubing and maintaining a round result is to fill the tubing with sand, pack it well into the tube, then cap it off w/duct tape before bending it. The sand keeps the tubing from collapsing while bending it. If you know someone with a surface grinder they could problee get that pan rail repaired for you unless it requires so much grinding as to cause interference issues w/the crank and rods in the pan, though I expect that's kinda doubtful.
Hey your self buddy. Come on now BFF, you don't think I know about filling it with sand. We need to stay in touch more often, and do our car stuff discussions hehehe. It's not the pan my friend, it's the lower block girdle main bearing piece that are butchered. I'll do a video about it when this block gets out of the car. Don't be a stranger, hit me up on Facebook message ones in a while 🙂
Don't know the country you live in, the fuel pump for common rail diesel engines is crucial for the engine to be running right, so I got a BMW factory pump from a company in Germany. If you have a gasoline Beemer you could get a cheap Chinese copy, but they wont last as long as a factory one.
Då blir allt slitage i växellådans splines.

Bra jobbat!
Buddy, do what you feel is best for you and the rest will work out on its own. No one knows what's goin on in your world better than you do so just do what ever's comfortable for You. I know what you mean about finding work later on in life. As we get close to retirement age, though we have vast experience in many different areas, employers also have to think about what they're willing to invest into training someone for their business, which makes us less desirable. Funny thing in my case is that I work with 2 guys, one 13yrs younger and the other is 27yrs younger but I'm the one that never misses work. Just keep on keepin on dude as that's what matters!

Glad you got a job. Never fun to have to think about how the economy is going to work out, even if it's not about a CEO salary, I guess. Videos for me that follow are just a fun event whenever they appear because they don't get made without a lot of commitment and there aren't enough hours in the day for everything. Prioritize your life so that you feel good and so that the car building is a good relaxation and the videos should come if you feel like making them although I am curious how the car building is progressing.
