@@barunpaul805 hello. In this video the two varieties shown I don't know what kind because these were the cuttings I bought when I was just starting. All I knew then was that they were the red flesh varieties. Thank you for your comment and thank you again for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Sorry, i would like to ask a question: i have a very little plant of yellow dragon fruit, it was at the stage to open his two leaves to let the catcus grow, i had to take it inside for one day and i controlled it now and it started to have both his leaves yellow and it is staring to close, should i worry? There is a way to save it?, sorry for the time im taking but it is the first time i have to do anything with this plant and i don't really know what to do
Hello. If you are referring to a seedling that is just starting to sprout, I suggest not to disturb it. Just keep the soil moist. Do not add fertilizer or any type of chemical while it is growing. I hope this helps. Thank you for your question and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. Fruiting may occur 2 to 3 times a year. Depending on the location, flower buds may start to develop as early as late April up to around November. I hope this answers your question. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. I use 1 tablespoon of Osmocote 14-14-14 per plant per month and also 2 scoops of manure compost (chicken or cow) per plant per month to help in flower/fruit production. I hope this helps. Thank you for your question and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. Did your plants produce flowers? Try adding fertilizer. I use 14-14-14 and chicken manure compost. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. Ants bring disease. I use a mixture of water, neem oil and dish washing soap against ants. I don't spray the whole plant but only the flowers/ fruits when the ants stay. I don't spray the flower when it already has bloomed. I hope this helps. Thank you for your question and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. Yes you can plant avocado in Mediterranean climate. San Diego where I'm from is considered Mediterranean climate. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
I bought a dragon fruit at least 1 meter high that i planted it in early April, is it possible to fruit this summer?(my mom told me it is waste of money because it will not fruit, i need to prove her wrong ASAP 😂) +Is it true that cuting the edge of the leaf/branch helps to produce fruits?(I'm in north Africa my plant get at least 6 hours sunlight)
😆😆😆 Hello. There is a chance it will fruit this summer. Dragon fruit I believe needs more than 6 hours of sunlight to produce flowers. I hope you get the fertile variety (does not require cross pollination to produce fruit). I suggest to add steer manure compost to your plant as well as 14-14-14 (1 tablespoon per month). No need to cut the tip off, it will produce flowers when the branch matures. Thank you again for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Thanks for the info, I actually lost a plant due to shriveling. It's a Vietnamese white and my first plant, I'm experiencing the same for another plant, I'll try hydrogen peroxide thanks.
Hello. I used to cut the tip of the plant but that was a long time ago. I do not do that anymore. I just let the plant/branch mature by itself. This is a link to another video that might help: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BsaNrQX63AU.htmlfeature=shared Thank you for your question and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. I use 1 tablespoon of Osmocote 14-14-14 per plant per month and 2 scoops of either chicken or steer manure compost per plant per month. I usually alternate the use of the steer manure compost and the chicken manure compost each month. Thank you for your question and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍Cheers
Hello. In my area I do not need to protect the plants from cold weather. The temperature only goes down to 46 degrees farenheit. If the temperature drops to freezing then the plants need to be protected. I've read of some use tarps to cover it. I've seen some put plants in pots with rollers so that it can be move easily into a shelter. I hope this helps. Thank you for your question and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
I also here in Florida started unknown yellow varietie from seed. It has grown up post and brranched out. It is in the ground onba raised bed. It's about year old. Full sun all-day. No diseases or pests. I've given blooming fertilizer already. Any thoughts on whether it is self fertile, should I hand pollinate just to try? How deep would you estimate the roots are? By the way are u originally from Hawaii? I spent years on big island.
Aloooha. I've lived in Oahu kaneohe for 3 years. If the seed you planted came from a fruit that has thorns on the skin then they are self fertile. If the seed came from a fruit that has no thorns then it will need cross pollination, and there is a big chance that it will not bear a yellow fruit. Mahalo for your comment and mahalo for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. I tried grafting before but personally failed. There are people that are successful in grafting so it can be done. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. I first collect pollens from all the flowers that bloomed that night then I mix all the pollens collected before I go around cross pollinating all the flowers. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. Here is the latest on the seedlings: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A2djnKHfe0s.htmlfeature=shared Thank you for asking and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hi, Neem oil is working as temp solution... after few days same story... can we use Gamazine Powder at the base level. Will it have any negative impact on the Plants Thanks,
Hello. I am sorry but I am not familiar with gamazine. I only spray the neem oil mixture where it matters, on the fruits, flowers, and tips of branches where ants merge and group together. Eventually the ants will avoid those areas that you spray with the mixture. This video might help you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q--sZd2utlw.htmlfeature=shared Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Thanks for the response.. Gamazine Powder is an insecticide which is an organochlorine chemical compound consisting of six carbon, six hydrogen and six chlorine atoms. It is also known as Lindane or gamma-hexachlorocyclohexane. Will there be any side effects, If we spray near the Plant Root Zone@@sackboymahalo
Thank you for the response. Would like to stay away from Pesticides / Insecticides - Kindly suggest if any organic methods to keep Ants away from plants ... can we use Lime - hope this wont alter Soil PH. @@sackboymahalo
Hello. From my experience, red and white flesh varieties have better root systems than Ecuador/Palora variety. Red and white flesh varieties grow faster than the yellow varieties. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
