The thing you two were speculating on over top of the Sans gif was the Judgement Hall, specifically the one from the Indie Cross FNF mod, where that black and blue Sans came from.
Fun fact (based on what I remember): Nightmare Mode Sans is an original idea made by the lead animator that worked on that mod. He goes by MØRØ. It was his own concept that they had permission to implement
14:06 Btw this guy is called Nightmare Sans. He's from an FNF mod called Indie Cross where you basically fight three characters from different indie games, being Undertale, Cuphead, and Bendy and the Ink Machine. There are also these "Nightmare" songs for each character made to be really difficult, with each one being accompanied by a Nightmare form for the three characters. Also the blue hallway is just the judgement hall with blue lighting, it served as the background for Sans' Nightmare song in the original mod.

Between sonic showdowns characters and this game potentially having sonic pastas,i hope at least for the sonic creepypastas like any of the official exes(2011 X/Original sonic.exe,Lord X,Faker/EXE,and 2017 Sonic/X),i hope we get sonic pastas that fit in and are well known and make sense for the roster,but not too many that it seems like it could just be a creepypasta game,but still be a sonic game with characters(either if they are from sonic or fan media of sonics community like exe stuff),i still want it to feel like a sonic game

I'm a tester for this game, and it has so much potential! Even though if there are countless bugs with the rail grinding and collision.. I still believe its going to be a great game!
