@@kittybumbum1301 very adventurous.. Might be a little scary for me.. But I a actually out the door to go show my speed boat some love at the lake with my buddies,, Mini flotilla.... I live for summer lake days.
Trains do reach back into our past so I guess a little black and white blends into that mode... Fell the heat from that engine and hear the pressure building.. Toot toot skytrain blues..
Heck ya.. It was awesome..That engine is so impressive.I stood next to those main drive wheels and they were as tall as I was.. Took tons of photos... I saw your 2 videos with footage of the train too..
I am going to some do but a very small population.. Outside of Quebec its quite rare.. That being said there are small French communities scattered across the prairie provinces.. I live in rural Manitoba, Canada in a FRENCH village ..lol.. No French is being spoken publicly but it exists.. Oddly enough I know a little conversational French in the local dialect.. A few households might speak in French at home but all businesses are conducted in English..
@@lsd25records I remember you had a gig like 10 years ago and after that walking home in the middle of the night, still making music on your guitar. I was so impressed by that vid
Would you like to come to a Live Music community Stream? Many here on RU-vid I share so you can see where I am in Real Time. Gets monotonous cause 95 percent are our brothers and sisters Musician of European descent. They mentioned it too lacking the diversity. I never go on camera but on my birthday I wanted to join and play live but they kept ignoring my request for the Link to join. Might have been and over site but would be fun if you came on (Z)
Ya I had a lot of responsibility for the car show . As a board member of the association that sponsored the event, I booked the band and the D.J. And spearheaded a grant application from our R.M. to fund the music ... I was on site super early putting up the tent setting up the sound systems and hosting the D.J. and band. Fun fact that drummer and guitar player and I all lived in a tiny northern town in Manitoba, Canada in the 1970's .. So we and our families have known each other since then.. Tim and I have been close friends over the years.. we both even landed in Vancouver at the same time in the early 90's. He was busking Granville and living in that Blues bar at the foot of the Granville bridge.. Those were the golden days.. Busking outside the Commodore and making the rounds to all the jams even out as far as White rock.. So the fact that Tim, Eric and I were on stage together was kinda epic.. We did 3 songs.. Eric is actually a first call drummer in town and gigs with a man named Barry G Player in his band.. I have some of his content on my channel. Feel free to take a peak to see where Barrys playing at.. Barry currently has cancer and undergoing treatment.. I have content of top grade heavy musicians that I fought with to record/publish at said events who are now dead and those recordings I fought to make have become historically significant artifacts that I labored to produce for the low low price of free, paid for by yours truly with almost zero thanks, in fact opposition from some funny cats.. I know some guys today with only a land line and the other dude has a rolodex in his briefcase for phone numbers... musicians you know..lol. So Barry and I have fought over the years about my posting him at public events ..lol.. And in a cruel turn of events he is currently experiencing his mortality as we speak.. And to top all that off , Tim is playing in a super group this Sunday as part of the Winnipeg International Jazz festival with the heaviest cats in town, so Barry is on the gig with a super bass player and drummer, all first call, in a super group playing Jeff Beck music.. Tim really wanted me to come to town and record it.. Ironically Barry did a gig with Eric last night literally 5 miles from my house and Eric wanted me to record it, but I had called Barry out of the blue earlier in the week to see how his health was and express my concerns for him and tell him that I was wanting to come to that gig and record.. As soon as he heard my voice on the phone and repeated my name he hung up on me. One of the reasons I was calling him was out of respect to let him know I was coming so that if I just showed up cameras in hand after 10 years at some rural gig he would freak out to the point of him probably refusing to play if I record the public event. Thats how manic he is.. None of that went well leaving a bad taste in my mouth for recording this super heavy gig tonight.. I encouraged Tim to record it himself.. I'll edit it for him if he pulls it off.. I am very tired , I was boating on Friday and haven't recovered and travelling 3 hours and in the dark , 50 bucks in gas out of pocket etc, having to put up with Barry just doesn't sound that appealing. So that was a huge amount of info intertwined like a spiders web of 6 degrees of separation. I hope you enjoyed my share.. I dont do that for just anybody but I really like you and what you are in my world....
@@lsd25records Oooooi wtf that a very sweet ending to your writing. Me too, I have lots of written work and music from the dead. Unfortunately I'm similar to your buddy, I don't like to be on camera but I am a ham for the studio and being recorded. Barry was bad to hang up on you. Fuxk Barry, but I hope he has it easy with his health. Guess he's manic about controlling his image. I hate mobile camera phones at gigs. Too bad it would have been fun to see footage from the Winnipeg International Jazz festival. Roladexs and land lines, that sounds like me. Good there are still some old fashioned musicians. Keep up the great work Uncle Kumaran you are doing a fine job at recording history. I know it's rewarding arranging events with live music. Did I tell you I'm spending the winter in India? Have family based there and colleagues. I still need more kultural research before my trip.I want to film a dance company. You see them "Sadyha Dance" at my haus. Have something now but waiting on the Professor, his Mum is ill. How is you Mum after the fall?
I have been in my village coming up on 4 years now.. I became a board member of the association that runs the local hall.. So I started the first ever jam night and it was pretty successful for our remote area.. I havent had the energy to put together and run jam#2 ,,There has been people asking when the next ones going to be... Maybe in the fall..
Ya man I live next to the main line here in Manitoba that runs east to west and vice versa across Canada.. I could definitely do a youtube channel based on that.. I am not as dedicated as much as you are to that interest but I do find your train stuff interesting. I have a soft spot for trains . Have you seen my Big English Bull Mastifff, Rupert in any of these vids ?? My dear friend and companion... Ya that train horn was the real deal..
