Using historic aerial photography, this ongoing project aims to document the destruction of communities of color due to red-lining, “urban renewal,” and freeway construction. Through a series of stark aerial before-and-after comparisons, figure-ground diagrams, and demographic data, this project will reveal the extent to which the American city was methodically hollowed out based on race. The project will cover the roughly 180 municipalities which received federal funding from the 1956 Federal Highway Act, which created the interstate highway system.

I love how this is only an issue in low income areas. I'm from an area just north of Los Angeles. They did the exact same thing. Pushed a giant freeway right through the center of a once secluded and quiet valley. The majority of the community was against it, and hundreds and hundreds of homes were bulldozed, completely changing the town forever. No one cares because white people lived there.

Freeways cut up many neighborhoods throughout southern California, from the valleys to Orange county and everywhere in between. There's no one clamoring for justice for all the homes and property lost by countless others.

It makes me angry to see how racist White America has - for eons - worked tirelessly to destroy Black America. To this day, many racists make it their life's work to undermine and destroy Blacks. SMH

Today...the Affluent Black residential Areas of L.A. are being Gentrified, White People moving in...because they can't afford to move where they rather live. In conversations I'll have at times I'm called Racist. I laugh and just say "Really, Learn Your History". Such a Twisted Tale.
@UzumakiNaruto_

If an area is already affluent then how can it be gentrified? Gentrified usually means an area being turned from poor to middle or upper income areas.
@horizonchaser6030

@@UzumakiNaruto_ That is an excellent point and Taken. For lack of a Better term, an element is still present. Others entering and driving up the Prices at an accelerated rate(Occurring everywhere I'm aware). Even for Los Angeles Standards. Along with that comes the New Owners Sensibilities, their cultural expectations and how the neighborhood should adapt, bringing with them how they believe the neighbors, visiting family should "ACT". They attempt to bring with them a "New Normal". I have friends in those areas and am told how Police are called for the most arbitrary reasons in place of a neighbor conversation. It is not a case of Urban Blight, it is a case of not embracing the area, to change it to fit them. Not all but for many...the Black Upper Class areas were/are the Goal to enjoy the benefits of their labor, education, etc and still be in a Culturally recognizable, familiar area. So I used the term Gentrification in a modified sense. The History of Race Covenants, Designed Segregation. Yes, Multi-Million $$ homes but you people still aren't good enough. makes all this a Thumb In The Eye.

The faith does not have segregation it has property control. local culture, local religion. local values. dislikes tv. Uses Christian crosses on their churches and preaches the lore and word of the Germanic god of light not the Christian bible who have no new room for expansion in the town. The towns 100 percent white but its not about race . The locals do not like new arrivals of any group or race including white. New generation normally have a portion that has to keep moving to nearby towns or a place or two a hour drive outside of a city. Predetermined migration points. The religion breeds the new generation of followers and never attempts to convert unless of the family groups. Marriage outside of the religion meaning having to leave the religion. A very anti-universalists religion by its very nature. Both the religious and atheists like the religion and its rule set. The atheists are normally honest about being atheists but still attend church. Criminals on the other hand seem to be terrified of the religion for some reason or other. What's scary about wanting to burn drug dealers alive on the stake or to behead rapists or the belief that it should be legal. I am sure the dead bodies of ex-cons with bullet holes found in the forest was from one of the other towns. The town is very peaceful and pleasant. The locals who follow outsiders around acting polite are just being friendly. The town is one of the boring places on earth. It does not even have a hotel. the bar only serves none alcoholic beverages. A source of pride for the locals. It has decent sized private libraries. Family have higher then normal amounts of children. The average is something like 6-8. The husband get no say. The wife always chooses the number. A faith breeding ground.
