I could imagine myself in my house in our town Arcadia, with my Husband Adam, our four children, our 5-year-old daughter named Ellie, our 6-year-old son named Tyler, our 8-year-old Identical Twins named Keith (Boy, our son) and Laura (Girl, our daughter), we would be sitting in the living room, the Christmas lights would be hanging outside on the front of our house, our Decorated Christmas Tree would be standing in front of our window, with the Christmas Lights on, the Christmas Presents would be underneath the Christmas Tree, a small plate with a chocolate chip cookie would be lying on the table, beside it would be a glass of milk, beside it would be a note for Santa that the kids have written, they each signed their names on it too, we would be dressed in our warm sleeping attire, Adam and I would be sitting on the couch, Ellie, Tyler, Keith, and Laura would be sitting on the living room floor, then the kids would fall asleep one by one, Adam and I would carefully picked them up, and carried them to their beds in their bedrooms, we would cover them up, and walked out of the bedrooms, we would walk down the stairs, and we would unplug the Christmas Tree, and eat the Chocolate chip cookie, drink the glass of milk, turn the radio off, and would go to bed too.
Listening to this in 2023 while making pumpkin pie, this makes me think of my mom who had me listen to this with her every year. Wish we could continue the tradition. Merry Christmas everyone in 2023 🎄
Marley and Scrooge were not Jack the Ripper.I myself don’t like Christmas,I love Easter.Christmas to me is the bully holiday,oh my God if you dislike this holiday look at what we can do to you!I know it is fiction but I wish the Ghostbusters were real I’d hire them to zap those damn Christmas ghosts, not Marley
How I love this story!!! 🤗 If only Charles Dickens knew what a beautiful, spiritual impact this would have on mankind! 🙏🏼 Everyone needs to experience this story of salvation!!! The world could be a better place! Amen!
I love this!!! If only this were a movie, I would very much enjoy seeing it. Mr. Barrymore is a wonderful Scrooge. I can almost see this in my imagination. And Orson Welles! Superb, just superb 🤗🤗🤗
Omg i hope this is what I've been looking for for years. I heard a radio program when i was a child, like 1984, and haven't found it. It was Christmas eve, and it enthralled me. About to listen. I'll update. Update: THIS IS IT!!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
Barrymore was to play scrooge on film but broke his leg. I think it was a auto accident. I'm pretty sure that he being in a wheelchair in" It's A Wonderful life". And Key Largo.✨
Lionel Barrymore went on to play the Scrooge-like Henry F. Potter in It's a Wonderful Life. About three decades later, Orson Welles played the same role in Marlo Thomas' TV-movie remake, It Happened One Christmas--which was my introduction to the Bailey-Potter story as a 1970s college student.
As we are force fed what modern society calls entertainment, it’s nice to know that classics like A Christmas Carol live on. Still my favorite movie and radio show
W we our squadron would be on alert 4 or 5 in 1991 for the Gulf War. And on BBC. So quite. So far away from home we were..hearing all the RAIDO STATION 3 WEEKS LATER DAM GOLF WAR JAN 15 -17 . THE CHRISTMAS SHOWS
My favourite version was produced in 1951 starring Allistair Simm and Patrick McNee who portrayed Scrooge as a young man. It's a staple every Xmas eve in our house
Old time radio helps you to use your imagination to picture what you see instead of the TV bringing out what they want you to see. The version of a Christmas Carol is more special than the TV versions.
