Looks like you need a bigger bowl,I never measure mine either.I didn't see you beat up the egg whites till thick foam with a little sugar to put on top.You would have to put that in oven for few seconds to lightly brown. I like to wait til my pudding cool off before I pour it on cookies and bananas.

You mix flour and sugar together and add a little milk., to keep from clumping.

you could add this mixture to the cookies and bananas cold and bake. you will get the sauce, without the time lost.

replace corn starch for the flour not lumps to worry about and smoother.
