My stepdad was a mechanic. But he was also a jerk a lot. I tried learning about cars with him when I was younger, but he would just have me hand him tools and not try to teach me anything. One time he got really aggravated bc I did not know what a certain tool was and I gave up. He did too. Now that I'm older, I'm slowly learning to fix cars on my own. I'll admit that sometimes I'm intimidated, I use RU-vid a lot when I get "stuck", and/or take it to the shop when I know I'm clearly "overmatched", but it feels genuinely good that I'm learning all of this on my own. Slowly but surely. This scene partially motivated me to learn so I can teach my kids a little bit about cars. It's a very important skill to have and it's great for bonding. Plus, I'm not an impatient jerk like my Dad and Stepdad are, so I don't want my kids to see learning about vehicle maintenance and repair as a bad thing. But a skill they will need in life.
Then they Never mentioned it again. Like some episodes hank has a shed and some he doesn't. They did Very well with continuity on koth but a few things they missed. But for a animated show they kept continuity better than some live action shows
When I was little I hated watching Cartoon Network and then seeing the adult swim bump come on and then right after this show opening was played and I remember every time it came on I was just like “ who likes to watch this show it’s so boring and they just talk about boring Adult stuff” now I’m all grown up and now for some reason my brain just wants to watch this show like out of nowhere, and crazy thing is, now when I’m trying to watch some kids shows like that ones I would watch , it just feels really chaotic and too much at some points, I just remember telling myself as a kid I would never grow up into watching these shows but now it’s like my brain just likes the stories they tell and the simplicity of it. Couldn’t really relate to much in real life as a kid and that’s why it hits so hard. Well for me anyways
I would have killed for a dad that wanted to helped me restore a car for when I grow up. But each walk of life is different for all. Those who have, can't appreciate, and those who do not have, can only make the best of what they DO have...
0:48 "Your unresolved feelings about your father." Hank's eyes immediately half closed when after Bobby said that. He was already completely done with any conversation about his feelings lol.
The side notes were that once again "Peggy" had to step in and clean up Hanks mess. Boomhauer had the car down so solid that Hank did not listen to the fact the car was a heep and wasn't worth the money to fix it. Hank was so pleased because he was buying bobby alot of life lessons he had trouble teaching Bobby because of how he himself was raised. Still, you buy a junker that needs mostly body work not alot of engine work. And if the starter is gone and possible block is cracked... Even a master level mechanic would argue the lesson of time and money!
Everything back then had a very wholesome jingle to it. Which makes it easy to listen to an just embrace how TV commercials were. Makes u sit an watch them. NOW all I hear in commercials are hip-hop beats! I like my hip-hop but keep it on the records, NOT commercials! Even big networks like ESPN play hip-hop beats when recapping games. Times have changed FOR THE WORSE for commercials.
