Used to come through Salem, Virginia in their great big, air braking bus to play some rocking, boogie woogie sets at the CinTer Bar on Melrose Avenue. I loved this band! And yes, we knew how lucky we were cause they were just so damn good. We were rocking til they threw us out the door at closing time.
I saw the Blue Sparks when they came to Scranton PA several times- at the Wine Cellar, and once at strip club on Lackawanna Ave. They were one hell of an outfit, with a lot of talent and performing savvy. Kids Today Don't Know What its Like to Hear a Real Live Band!
Thank you for sharing this. I knew Chris (AKA Tucker) when we were kids in the days of The Sunny Day Dung Trudgers, his first band. It seems like yesterday. I hadn't seen him for over 35 years but hearing of his passing hit hard as the memories come flooding back.
