Hiiii i am a beginner and this video was literally my survivor 😭🙏🏻 Actually i found out that the squares look so big and i got a bit worry about the sizes I am 163 cm tall and i weigh 45-48 kg Shall i continue with the same amount of the squares or it’s better to decrease the number? If i should make less pls tell me how many Thank you so much 🤍 (Sorry English is not my first language)
@dexterousdorothy4691
@dexterousdorothy4691 3 дня назад
To give you an idea, I'm 165cm tall and I weight 65kg and as you can see it looks oversized on me, so if you are a little bit underweight you can make the cardigan shorter by taking off the bottom column of both the front and back panel, as for the sleeves in order to make them narrower take off of ligne from the right and left sleeve, also dont make you re square any smaller just stick to my instruction and make a 15cm square

Is it okay to add a square to the width and the length and increase the ribbing lengths a bit? (I mean, I know it kinda sounds like it's possible, but in a logistic way, It won't mess up anything right?) I'm a guy with a bigger frame, so I fear your pattern would be a bit too small for me, just got into crocheting and finished my first cardigan (hexagon kimono)

Hi, may I ask... if I understand correctly, the yarn you are using has a recommended hook size of 5.5 mm, but you are using a 4 mm hook in the project? I know how many grams of yarn I need for the sweater, but I would ideally need to know the yardage as well, as it can vary considerably for the same number of grams depending on the thickness of the yarn. I am sorry if I missed the info somewhere... I would highly appreciate your answer because this sweater looks simply amazing and I cant wait to crochet it!
@dexterousdorothy4691
@dexterousdorothy4691 11 дней назад
It's true that the recommended hook size is 5.5 but I opted for 4.5 to make the stitches look smaller and tighter together. As for the yardage you will need 500m (546yards) for each color (3colors) and I'm sure you're going to make a beautiful one

Hey ! Thank you for the pattern :) It is really cool !I have a question for you : since I wear really large clothes because of my weight (like 48 to 50 in French size so kinda large), do you think that i could make the squares a little bit bigger so that it would fit better ? Instead of 22 hdc i could make 24 or 26 ? What do you think? Do you have any other ideas maybe ?
@dexterousdorothy4691
@dexterousdorothy4691 11 дней назад
Just to give you an idea, I'm 5'5 tall and I weight 65kg and it doesn't look oversized on me, so even if you are a little bit overweight just follow the same instructions and see how it turns out, if you re still unsatisfied by its size you can simply add one ligne at both the right and back panel to make it longer

Hey! I’m a little confused on how to see the sleeves with the rest of the cardigan. Am I attaching them horizontally to the front and back panels? I can’t really tell from the video how and where the sleeves attach. I’ve never made a wearable before so maybe I’m just not using common sense lol
@dexterousdorothy4691
@dexterousdorothy4691 12 дней назад
Thats okey it true that its a little bit confusing, but I can break it down for you, first of all you will want to attach the edges of the sleeve panel together to make a cylinder (you will notice that the sides of the sleeves are not proper stitches so just make sure yo insert your hook in any visible gap you see and join it with another gap in the other edge parallel to the previous one) after you end up with a cylinder now you will attach it to the back and front panel. To make it clear, each sleeve has 4 column therefore 4 squares, so join the upper 2 squares with 2 squares of the back panel, then join the remaining 2 upper squares to the front panel. I wish I was helpful because its quite hard to explain it with text

Hey, I’m currently doing the squares but I have a question about sewing them together as the other sides of a square don’t have like this stich pattern which makes it easy to see the back loop. Maybe I’m doing something wrong and I hope you understand what I mean but I’m unsure how to sew these sides together as the stitches are not so clear for me. It’s still a very cute tutorial, very thankful for sharing <3
@dexterousdorothy4691
@dexterousdorothy4691 13 дней назад
You are totally right, the sidesof the squares are not proper stitches, but still you will want to insert your needle in any visible gap you see (make sure it's the side of stitch not between stitches) and join it with any visible gap in the other square parallel to the previous gap, I hope you understand what I mean because it's quite hard to explain it with a text

@dexterousdorothy4691
@dexterousdorothy4691 13 дней назад
Yes you are right, the side of the squares are not proper stitches, but still you have to insert your needle in any visible gap you see (make sure it's the side of a stitch not a gap between 2 stitches) then join it with any other visible gap in the other square that is parallel to the previous gap, as for the middle ribbing you need to crochet just one long ribbing starting from the right bottom of the front panel, all the way up and around the neck line, then down to the left bottom. If you want to make the cardigan shorter, take off the bottom ligne from both the front and back panel, and to make the sleeves narrower, take off one column from both the right and left sleeve, I hope you understand what I mean because for me too English is not my first language.
