I was the radio marshal at that post. Certainly kept me busy on the first run through. The locals told me that it was a well known spot for offs on the old night rallies.
It doesn't look half as tight and steep on video as it is in reality, it's a tricky corner on best of days just driving it normally. They did pretty will considerin great footage of the stage 👍🏼
Looks like If it's taken too tight then you end up with two wheels off the road and you just lose a load of traction just as its needed for the climb. It's definitely a tricky one. How did you rate the stage overall? One of my favourite places up over little crag
Hardly surprising he was 5 minutes ahead when he retired. That's right. 5 minutes clear of the field 😮 He's definitely a chip off the old block and will definitely win the world championship 🏆
Thank you for showing this. The Stratos is a mythical car and whilst it was sad to see it retired (water pump?), the owner should be congratulated for rallying the car rather than polishing it for the next auction / garden party etc. I had a quick look at the entry list and this was an amazing event with a high standard of cars and drivers.
Thank you for the great coverage. Great field and variety of classic cars. Missed seeing the two Dutchmen in their Big Healey’s and the guy in the bright orange Alfa, maybe in 2025!!
It will most likely be a BDG I think, as a BDA is a 1600 engine. No idea who builds his though, there are a fair few engine builders out there for these engines!
@@rallyinggb BDA.... Belt Driven A series.. can be a 2 litre, BDA, BDG, and BDX - On injection, BDH is a 1300 as far as i know.. and yes you can also have a 1600 BDA.. Solbergs was a very special motor reving to over 10.000 rpm.
He wont win until he learns to drive properly, he is visiting the ditch WAY too often and that's the reason he was kicked from the big league. His need for speeed is larger than his ability .He needs to mature a bit. Plain and simple.
Good collection of clips. Really appreciate Solberg, Pryce, McCormack, Pritchard, Perez, Meeke, Ingram, Weaver, McCourt, Tuthill, Hetherington amongst many others, coming to do this rally and giving the fans such a good and nostalgic time. For those of you not there, you missed the atmosphere, the noises and smells and especially the very cold Saturday. Next do not miss out. Get out there for at least two days
