If you are referring to the horizontal lines under the turret cap, they are just for reference to indicate the approximate turret revolution position. Some firearms natural shoot high, low, left or right compared to a factory zeroed optic. In addition, since some guns use a 0, 20, or 30+ MOA rail, there is no way to accomadate for these changes so that horizontal "1" lines up.
Not hating on athlon but this scope is extremely similar to the mk3 Leupolds used on the m24 sws the army used the leupold mk3 was one of the best combat optics ever made and if this is just a copy of that design that’s GREAT especially for the price the us.army took a optic like that and set the world record for longest kill shot with a 308. I got one of these athlons for my 308 and I’m getting one for my 30/06
MOA is BOSS, period for ranging distance, bullet drop compensation, and wind counters, whether by dialing or holdover/holdoff. Any who say mils are better don’t have a full experience with either concept to know what is better. My experience is CMP-USAMU Military Rife Instructor assisting the USAMU deliver SDM, TTT, and SAFS Training, US Distinguished Rifleman, and American High Power Rifleman in Long-Range Award Winner.
You can now find information about the Forerunner 10x42 Binoculars and Forerunner 4.5-14x44 Riflescope on our website. The rest of the Forerunner line will be added in the near future: athlonoptics.com/product-category/limited-distribution/
I already have a Midas 12x50 G2 and a Neos HD 10x42. I have been looking at getting an Ares or Cronus Spotting scope. Where does this scope fall compared to the two I mentioned. Thanks
The Cronus G2 UHD and Ares G2 UHD Spotting Scopes are our two highest-end Spotters at this point. The Forerunner line is designed to give each optic a good mix of features for an affordable price.
@@Athlonoptics Thank you. I look at optics as long term investments. So, I do not mind spending more (within reason) for better optics. I am a professional photographer and know what premium optics look like. Athlon's value proposition is unbeatable.
@@Athlonoptics Thank you. I am pretty sure it will be either the Ares 65 or the Cronus 86. I have to decided if I need the extra reach and get the funds together to do it. I am just a casual user who loves optics.
My local gunsmith convinced me to get one and I was thrilled with it. Low Athlon precision rings and the ares etr 3x18x50 was the perfect match for my new 300 win mag which is my new bear and big game rifle. I love the turret clicks and the gun was quick to sight in.
I turn my ring to the stop on my BTR Gen 2 and then back up just a smidgen, tighten the ring down and put the cap on zero and secure. It enables me to go a couple 10ths below zero for fluctuations in 22 LR rounds with true zero just a couple clicks away.
Between Keegan & Kevin they should get specs correct about Midas Flash RMR ,CAUSE 1 video Kevin says no shake awake & in this video Keegan says has shake awake so which one is correct???
I just bought the Athlon Cronus UHD 10x50 rangefinder binoculars and though the laster yardage readings reliability is a bit finiky the overall optics are phenomenal.
You guys are killing me. Another year wasted. You need to compete with lightweight leupold hunting scopes. Parallax, small profile turrets that lock and lightweight. 2-12x42, 3-15x44, 3-18x44.
@@aronhower3729 I sure hope so. Please keep it under 20oz. 1” tubes are okay as well. But parallax is important to keep the precision. But the other issue I see is going to big on Objective and the eye piece. Hard to mount low with a 90 deg bolt. Ideally the perfect scope is 2-12x42 with pop lock turrets(small profile) zero stop on the one and windage needs to scale up both directions. How difficult would it to locate the zero stop on windage where it doesn’t stop on zero but it doesn’t let you go over say 8 MOA. Like the vx-6 does. Reticle needs to be able to be seen in low light.
We are listening to what you guys want, and I know the weight is right there in that range. We will offer a few options and I think you are going to really enjoy it. Not sure how much I can say, so I will leave it at that. We love the feed back! @@SpudOutdoors
Please do an ares/cronus model of the Helos 2-12 Mil. massive gap in the market for that mag/reticle combination. FFP tree reticle with low power donut is a fantastic combo.
I've been hounding them for at least 4 years for an mpvo in this tier and this magnification range. I finally got word today that late 2024 there may be a new 2-12 in the lineup, and more 3-18's but their customer service rep didn't tell me which lines those would be part of.
I have never once had a turret move on me. I have the Cronus 4.5-29 and there is NO WAY that turret is moving from getting bumped. Locking turrets should disappear and never comeback.
@@jamessammann9183 HAHAHAHA as if I need your permision to speak I guarantee you are only tough online.....relax Billy bad ass you'd NEVER raise your voice to me in person
I’d like to see a 3-9 or 2-10 capped turrets with UHD glass. Something for your classic bolt action deer gun. I think we’ve got carried away with long range shooting, exposed turrets and high magnification. For most hunting situations in my area you will never have a shot over 300 yards and very good chance you will have one under 50. Just a classic all around deer scope with good glass.
