Classic car resurrections, repairs, parts finds of mostly Ford persuasion but not just Fords. My main love is the 1972 Gran Torino, having owned 8 of them, but I've got an automotive addiction, having owned over 140 cars.
Hey Mike, Don’t sell the Torino. I’ve thought about selling the maroon car many times over the years. I’m thankful that someone always talked me out of it. I think if you keep it you will be thankful that you did later
Lucille and I are soooooo grateful to McFord and Specmo! Was afraid I was looking at a massive bill from the dealer to get this fixed, or drive blind the rest of my truck's life! McFord, as he always does, went above and beyond. This man is a wealth of mechanical knowledge. If he doesn't know how to fix it, he spends a ton of time researching until he finds an answer. A million thanks to McFord's Garage 😊👍👌.
Thanks for the content, I really enjoyed it. I hope to see you there next year, this is definitely something I want to do. Do you have any suggestions for first time attendees? 1965 Oldsmobile 442 Cutlass
Great video and commentary. Awesome cars. Thank you. The blue GTO was a 67 first year for the 400. Love the Trans Am's and Pontiacs. The first car, 79 formula WS6 4sp one of 349. I'd love to be there and see these cars in person, meet some of the owners and watch them run.
Absolutely LOVE the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags! IMHO it's more exciting than the NHRA pro classes. You get a top notch classic muscle car show, get to watch them do battle on the dragstrip, AND meet some good people.
Once you participate, you're totally hooked. I haven't participated every year since 2003 but I've been there almost every year since. Participated in 2003, 04, 05, 06, 07, 11, 12, 13 and 2023. It felt SO good to do it again. Thanks for watching!
Not many fords runnin the pure stock drags . It’s on my bucket list to get there with my 69 cyclone when ever it gets finished. Your Torino is cool love the 4 speeds
Doesn't matter what other people think about your work, ya doing it yourself. I think it's coming along nicely. Wish I could get going on mine, still waiting on some parts, like a roller cam, ordered December last year. But I could be doing some of the other stuff,
This is super helpful. I have a 78 (pace car vetsion) that needs those short rubber fuel lines replaced - I've been dreading trying to do it alone - when you put yours back on did u do it with the tank partly down or all the way up in place? (I don't see how I could get my hand in there) Great help even if you did the vid later
I think it was sitting in the straps but the straps were loose. I THINK I put the rubber on the lines first. But I would have put it on the lines before putting the tank back up so I just had to pull them onto the lines of the sending unit. It WAS tight but I got it. This was a couple years ago so trying to remember. Lol.
Unfortunately we don't have salvage yards here, with older cars. Mostly newer models, but it looks like you had a good time shopping. Great stuff, those heads were pretty clean
My 75 had a shrinking tank and I knew that I did not have the ability to change it so I am bringing it to the Corvette Center. Getting the valve seals done at the same time. Happy Motoring.
Hang in there man, the beauty of cars are when they cause drama you close the hood, garage door and maybe don't look at it for a week a month or a year. I don't think you hurt the cylinder, maybe a kiss on the piston.
Nice job. But if you could, I need pictures of the torino, between the hood latch and the grill. Putting the front end together and don't remember where everything goes. Like what the lower valance mounts to. Took the car apart 13 years ago
Randy, mine is too. The original, VIN stamped block, the crank and rods are in the corner. The heads on the engine that's in the care are the original heads from the original engine. Eventually, the original short block will be rebuilt.👍🏻
This doesn’t show me how to get the tank filler neck lined up with the fuel door … get a go pro and record the process … talking about it doesn’t help … thanks
Thank you for the comment Don. But there really isn't anything to really line up. The filler is part of the sending unit assembly. The tank kind of centers itself into position and it can be nudged a little bit left or right once you get the straps started.
