That could have been my dad in the photo of Gwladys street school, crazy to think that, and mum played in the bombed out houses in Kirkdale as a little girl. Thanks for the video. Wish I could have showed them it.
Born in Melrose Avenue in 1964. Unfortunately never seen a photo of it. Westminster Road school for a while then Mam moved us to Seacombe for an indoor loo. 🙄 If anyone has any Melrose Ave photos would love to see them. 😃
I had the privilege of knowing the guy who designed and built the large Santa displayed in Blacklers. Great guy, who sadly passed away a few years ago.
1:00 oh wow, I used to play here, we liked climbing up the wall and generally hanging about on the steps. 1 guy who worked there took me home to me mum. I got caught opening and closing the depot doors so was dragged to me mum by the ear 😄
Went there today. Thanks for posting. My my grandma Lizzie had a Greengrocers on Breck Rd and my Dad Ernie took it over. Bob Paisley used to have a cup of tea with my grandad in the greengrocers before a match. They were friends. Many of the footballers used to pop in for fruit then and chat. Littler used to look after the shop when my grandparents qent on holiday. Happy days, so different then. My grandad even had his Welsh Cob, Tommy, grazing on Liverpool's ground during the war.
