Extremely a shame that this Cadillac was not in a barn. Why did you call your presentation, “barn find” where it could have been forest, or jungle find?
I am a just a little confused, the colloquial term “ Barn Find “ has almost expired. It is often used as a catch all,but as I I clearly saw, this old caddy rag top came out of the bush, why not tell it like it is?
I just had one question was that an abandoned house and if it was who own the property and did you have permission to take the car. Because if you didn't that would be Grand theft Auto and the rightful owner came back for it he could reclaim that carit happened to me I bought a car paid $70,000 for Shelby only to give it back to find out it had been taken illegally
No way that car was sitting there for 40 years. So clean, looks like it was just pushed there 6 months ago. Clean tires, no dirt, been rubbed down with a pressure washer a month ago. That car was just put there just in time for some RU-vid subscriber clicks!
You'd be better off buying one that's already restored. I guess somebody has to do it, but they're never worth what they cost to restore. A full 100% restoration on this could cost well over 100 thousand dollars, maybe closer to 200 K if you have to pay to have all the work done. That's a concours perfect restoration, though you could make it a nice driver for somewhat less.... depending just exactly what it needs. I say driver quality is actually better, trailer queens serve no real purpose.
@@tootall5559If I won the lottery, it'd be more fun bringing one more of these cars back to life( nomatter the cost) rather than buy an already done example
Excuse me, I watched your video very closely. Car clearly appeared to be out in the open, you had to cut trees around it, come on, how do you come up with “Barn Find?”
"Barn find" is a catch-all phrase that covers anything that was previously put aside and left to get dusty, rusty and otherwise remain unused for a long time.
That's old school vehicle back in time hood days take men power get vehicle out of brushes trees restore everything new seats engine tires awesome video keep up the good work friend bless you happy holidays
Theres no follow up, because the car was a total basket case that will never see the road again, and there isnt even any parts on it that are salvageable. That's what happens when you leave a car exposed to the elements in an area with lots of rain, for decades. I have my parents 58 CADILLAC they bought in 1960. Lifelong southern California car. No rust, nice, still driving it. And its expensive to keep her on the road. Spent about 14.000 dollars on the old girl over the last 10 years keeping her road worthy. She's doing good now.....lol
@@johnfranklin5277 That's because you're a true car enthusiast. People who leave old cars to rot rather than sell to someone who'll restore them sickening me.
Hope you guys are going to restore this. 1949 Model 62s are super cool and you have a convertible which is cool on cool. That place looks like a war zone in a way. Stuff everywhere.
