It’s awesome to have one person in the family that is paying the bills…because starting this business on your on is extremely hard…no rich spouse, no rich family members…that’s the story I’m looking for…start up on your on shoe strings…also to note…you do have to go to Interior Design School and to pass the NCIDQ exam in order to call yourself an Interior Designer…maybe not now…it was 20 years ago…also you need to learn design history to understand the different design, styles, principles, design elements & concepts ….and let me add to learn fashion design as well. Mainly … it just makes you a better knowledgeable designer…never stop learning!!! (see Decorator vs Interior Designer definition )….Calling yourself a decorator is not a bad word…it may keep you out of the courtroom.

I’m racking my brain about how to pursue my career. I can decorate, but I’m weighing interior architecture education as I want to be able to modify spaces including load bearing walls, mill work, masonry, etc. But I’m also wondering should I go through all of that trouble? Should I just jump into decorating? 😭😭😩😩
check check check! I love it! One of the things I used to do to fall asleep was to imagine a very outdated house, real or imagined, and renovate it. Then I added challenges: you can't remove walls, or you can't change this, or that. I love love love to transform homes. It's good to know the other signs.
Hi was trying to get info on your course for my adult daughter and I don't understand why I cannot find anything on the cost. we should be able to get some idea of the cost without scheduling a 30 minute phone call on a specific date but that appears to be the only way to get in touch with you. Hi Jennifer, I’ve been following you for over a year now and really need design help. We moved into a Georgian style home and I want to make cosmetic changes to suit my taste. I like your first things first approach and want to get started by doing a room or area of the home (foyer, living, and dining room) at a time so it has a cohesive appearance. Would your course enable me to do this on my own or would you suggest I hire a decorator to help me? I’m not interested in becoming a professional like you. Thanks so much.
Very inspiring, I like interior design bc it reflects someone soul in a home. Everybody is different and have different tastes on what is beautiful and that's what makes every house unique. I don't know if i want to be an interior designer but it is a really beautiful job.

First thing that came up while spending time with Lord in prayer and researching RU-vid on the topic of “home staging”, was your video on interior design. I shared it with my wife and we believe that it may have been divinely appointed. Many of the things you said about Interior Designers, describe me. This is interior decorating, not interior design. They are distinctly different things - Interior Designers must be licensed and requires skills in architecture and drafting.
I love this. You have motivated me so much. I have 3 kids and no money to go to college for years, but decorating a space is a passion for me. I own a spa that I keep changing the designs just when I get bored… and my clients are always telling me I should get into interior designs as no matter how I change the place it’s always looking good. I’m not sure if this is healthy but decorating the salon spa just helps me mentally and emotionally so I would do it as a therapeutic session. I got tired and now I’m really looking into sharing my passion for designs with others!
Of course! When you are creating a mood board, click on the one item you have added that you would like the background to be removed. Then you will see at the top of the screen a lock, and what looks like a paint roller - next to that is a square with dots inside that fade on one side. That is your background remover!
Well, start with your Instagram first, but I would definitely work on a website. Don't fret over a complicated website. You just want to show your clients your talent, who you are, how to contact your, and prices if that is what you want to share. Thanks for watching!
pinterest used to be my happy place and i really liked to do craft project in school however i had a emotionally devasted chilhood and was clueless still am i was distracted to think that ehh its not that of a serious thing or reliable or maybe i was too tempted, my father is from office furniture backgroud he has all the knowledge he can also draw 2d image of an complicated furniture in flick of time rn he works in a private firm where the furnitures are manufatured to the retail store and it is hectic i love to be creative now former i was tempted by the thought that oo itll be not stable i will have to think creatively im not a creative person but then i read this meme which said that it is a muscle that we have to build i started taking class of digital marketing and there i learnt some graphic tools and software. what i have to do is be committed and bein it im afraid that i may end up feeling alienated i don't want that .
I love your journey and the advice shared but let's not confuse anyone. Interior decorator and interior designer are not interchangeable terms. Anyone looking to be either one, do your research and the job possibilities for each one.
