Welcome to my channel is basically another car enthusiasts channel. I love cars all cars from imports to American made. My focus is to capture the essence of the culture because truthfully if you are a true enthusiasts then all cars are amazing and thats what i am here to show so enjoy. gofund.me/6d1a7e75
Great job man. I'd love to do this on mine, but I assume the cost alone of a good manual tranny would be crazy. Let alone I'm not quite savy enough to do all this work. I wish!
So literally... just 3 bolts (2 straps and the one at the front?), and one harness clip, 3 fuel clips at the filter area, filler neck, and then the tank is able to drop?? Thank you in advance. This was the MOST helpful video of all I've watched.
... I highly recommend, when anyone trying to do any work on their fuel tank, they should run the car down until the gas tank is almost empty, or use something to siphon the gas in it. Those things are heavy when you have about 10 gallons of fuel in them. I used a Mityvac hand-vacuum pump kit with a fluid reservoir bottle attachments to siphon the fuel out, into a pan that sits lower than the tank. The easiest part is replacing the EVAP vent solenoid, like in this video. Replacing the fuel pump is a PITA! Those "Quick Disconnects are a PITA to remove, they use 3 Quick Disconnect fuel line connectors, all 3 seem to have slight variations in their designs. It took me over 1.5 hours to disconnect the last connector, the one closes to the front of the tank, the first one is the easiest ( closes to the rear of the car), the middle one is slightly more difficult. And you definitely need at least 3 feet of space underneath the car, to do these types of jobs on these GM U-platform chassis. And you can't drill a hole thru the passenger compartment to access the fuel pump, I thought about it, because the fuel pump sits directly underneath the Left rear passenger seats floor mount. I though about going that route, but it's not feasible. I mean you could drill a hole, but you'd need to replace that Sheetmetal with a slightly larger section from a salvage yard donner🤔 I'm stuck at the moment, trying to remove that damn locking retainer that secures the fuel pump to the top of the tank. 🤬 It's a crappy design, it's almost as if it was built so that no one could replace the fuel pump. I might need to go to AutoZone, to see if they have a specialty tool for that retainer ring.
You can never go wrong with a Honda they're easy to modify great on gas and it doesn't matter how old it is you can always make it look brand new👊🏾🤣🇨🇦✈️
... I used CRC QD Electronic Cleaner on the underside connector, it cleans out the corrosion, and then you put a dielectric grease in the connector. ✌🏽
...taking out that EGR is not simple. I couldn't loosen the bolts from the exhaust pipe to the EGR valve on the backside of the engine 🤔 Those bolts were welded or rusted in place. So I loosened the entire EGR assembly and unbolted it from the intake manifold unit in my 2004 Buick Rendezvous. I was then able to clean the EGR valve with carb cleaner and the EGR passageway in the manifold once unbolted 🤔 It's a pain to get tools in that little cavity, there are a lot of electronic connections, hoses, and plastic fuel lines there. 🤨 Lots to mess up, if you aren't careful, knowledgeable, or experienced working in such a tight place.
I have this exact car, I just want to know all the parts you used so I can do it myself. Because I know different cars need different things and I dont want to spend too much on things I don't even need to swap it.
I just disconnected the neutral Safety switch from the side of the transmission and left it in neutral. There is another way but I haven't been back to the car to try it. My cousin is still driving ot so we just left it as is.
You will need the transmission, I cut the brake pedal down so that the clutch pedal would fit, and the neutral Safety switch I just left plugged up and detached it from the automatic transmission. I zip tied it to the firewall. Oh and you have to use the driveshaft for the manual transmission u get the automatic is to short.
Everyone always looks at me crazy for using mystery oil. Nobody believes all the benefits I've gotten. That's why I started making videos too. You got good editing and no problems talking to a camera. Keep it up

I buy a lot of beaters to fix up, the first thing I do before driving them home when I buy them is add some Marvel to the crank case and gas tank. Let that stuff start cleaning things right off the bat!
