Welcome to my channel. Focus: Automotive, and other Life Adventures. Purpose: To document my cars. If you can tolerate listening to nails against chalkboard, then you will not mind my voice.
@tizodd6, It's a beautiful car. Power wise, yes, you can get more power at $50k. I did consider GT350 but they were in the $60k range. Today, used base C8s are in the low $60k range and that is probably the best bang for the buck.
@@JioniDrive i didnt watch tho. I knew something was wrong with it and as soon as i proved myself right, i came here to tell you that transversely rear mounted engine is as lame as it sounds
@DS-ie6ih, I could not find one to rent in my area. Also, I buy and sell cars quite often. It was going to be the 4C or some other car. I’m not complaining; I’m just showing the true cost of owning a $50k car. I’m lucky to be able to afford to spend money on these kinda things. Thank you for watching.
Awesome video Sam ! I imagine when you sell it, you will probably make a small profit on the Alfa. They are a very rare car here. Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
@Kapil-Patel, they are rare but not appreciated yet. It could be like the NSX where it took 20 years for them to be collectible. The 4C will stay at $40k- 60k range for sometimes. It has held its value very well. Thank you 🙏🏾 for you mr support!
@ciello_8407, that’s why I bought the 4C instead of a used C8. The 4C has held it’s value remarkably well. Now the C8s are coming down from the markups and some depreciation, they’re looking more and more attractive and attainable.
My e350 was new in 2011. The only cost other than routine maintenance was the alternator. Faithful car still looks good. Black with cream interior. Beautiful
Great video! I have a 2013 Audi A7 prestige , and that has to have aftermarket exhaughst because mine doesnt sound like that haha.. But it is a great car, I am absolutely in love with it. Currently 85k miles, I have had to fix a few things, but its in great shape!
Hey I was driving the other day and looked like I hit some sort of silicone tube from a work truck and theirs all this adhesive on the side of my car looks like melted gum, would this remove it without damaging the paint ? Thank you
@LiLLobby, welcome to California! If you’re buying from a dealership located in California, you don’t have to do anything; the dealership will send all the required paperwork to the DMV. If you buy it from a person (not a dealer), make sure they have a smog certificate that is not older than 3 months. Otherwise, you will need to smog the car yourself.
@@JioniDrive thanks buddy, I appreciate the infos. I’ll keep everything in mind, and yeah I’m buying from a private seller for sure. How much the smog certificate cost by the way?
@@JioniDrive yep perfectly makes sense. Thank you! What about registration taxes? On a 5000$ car how much should I expect to pay once I go to dmv registering the vehicle, getting the plates etc?
@LiLLobby, I estimate taxes to be around 8% and for a $5k car, that will be around $400. Registration might be around $200. The car should have license plates but if it doesn’t, you might pay around $30 for them.
I had a '90 Taurus SHO. I loved it, even though it was a total lemon. The engine made up for everything. 220 HP at 7200 RPM from a 3.0 liter V6 in 1990 without a turbo was unheard of. Yamaha can make some amazing engines.
I just got the exact same year and model (s) without chrono. Can you please advise if PDK service ($1500) is needed? Mine has 41K miles, and 30K dealer service was done by the previous owner. I would appreciate it if you could recommend other services that are 'must'. Yes, first 911, my dream ride😅. Thank you in advance. Subscribed and liked!!!
@herodtrt5576, I believe Porsche recommends PDK service at 60k miles or 12 years. If you have a metal pan on the transmission, PDK service could have been done. I believe factory transmission pans are plastic. But I will let 911 people give you advice on this. I personally do not own a 911 yet. Rennthusiast RU-vid channel and Porsche Club of America channel should provide you with all the knowledge you need. Enjoy the car and thanks for watching.
Bought a 2013 mks with the 3.5 ecoboost and 73k. Ran synthetic oil changed at 5k intervals. Motor and both turbos blew at 80k. Jumped time. Had a warranty from the used lot i bought it from. So the motor and turbo were replaced. Turbos were new and motor had 38k. When the car was a bit over 100k the water pump went out. Had it repaired and the timing chain done. I now have 142k on the car and powertrain has had no more issues. I have replaced front wheel bearings twice, a tie rod end, and two stabilizers on the rear. Not cheap!
@johncoperland8852, thanks for sharing. Good thing you had a warranty and the warranty company actually paid for engine replacement. It is not a cheap car to own but it is a fun car. Keep enjoying it.
Excellenr video. Great information skillfully shot and edited. Bravo. I have a 2011 Limited wth new water pump issues ao it iant long for this world. Looking into a 2015 SHO...your video helped!
@MotleyDeth, I’m glad the video was helpful. I think 2013 or newer for SHO are better because of the updates. Hopefully the one you’re considering has all the maintenance done. Or do a pre-purchase inspection. All the best with the SHO.
@@JioniDrive 996.has the yellow blinker part on the bottom 996.2 doesn't when the 996 came out the turbo had slightly different headlights and they used them on the 996.2
@Kapil-Patel, there is something going on here almost every day. A lot of sweat and money but in the end, I think it will be worth it. Thanks for watching 🙏🏾 !
@jeidm9936, unfortunately, there was no way of affording this house without a mortgage. We were debt free; we paid off our previous house in 2021. After selling that house, we were able to put a huge down payment on this house. But a little debt motivates me to work harder. I was getting a little stagnant financially. And after paying off one house, I think I can do the same for this mortgage.
If the TourX had been a hybrid, this would have been at or near the top of my list. Probably would be in my driveway. Love the lines, low center of gravity, space, performance, nice interior, price point. All wheel drive. Apple CarPlay. Not an SUV. Almost everything I would want in a car.
Also if you plan on mowing with leaves on the ground, the electric mower will not pick up the leaves as well as a gas mower. That is why I returned mine.
Well electric lawnmowers have gotten alot better since your bought yours 6 years ago. Milwakee and ego have some really nice high end mowers that could do that yard. Of course mowing more often will make it alot easier.
@Phil_Goodman, thank you for watching and for the feedback. Electric lawnmowers are great for small yards but terrible if you have more than half an acre.
@JP-rc2bz I think for a regular yard, electric lawnmower is great. Probably even cheaper than using gasoline. My previous house was on a .29 of an acre and I used this electric lawnmower for 6 years without an issue. One charge took care of front and back yard. My current current house is on 1 acre and that’s when electric mower start to struggle a bit. A riding electric mower will be sufficient. I think for landscaping businesses, their cost might increase. But I’m sure most of them will keep gasoline mowers because they can cut more yards in a day compared to electric mowers.
Wow that's a big project, hopefully the electric lawnmower can cope 😄. I honestly regret buying our electric mower, whats worse is mine isn't even cordless 🤣 Thanks for sharing Sam, great fun as always 👍🏽
@Kapil-Patel, electric lawnmower is great for small yard. I had no issues with the electric lawnmower on our previous house. I will have to buy a riding mower soon.
To my knowledge, there aren't many parts that interchange between Porsche and the rest of the VW group, at least from their sports cars. I looked around, and found a couple of aftermarket rotors that were cheaper, but also weren't the exact same size. 997.2S front rotors are 330mm x 34mm, and the ones i saw were only 28mm. Would it matter? Probably not, but YMMV.
Hey man….when you drive you have to pay attention. That was not because this is a 4C that is “ a nervous car” wasbecause you was looking t9 something else ( phone?! Camera ?!)……Very close call ….you were not only destroying your car but trying to recover you was directly hitting in the front of another car. This is nothing to enjoy and to be proud. You risk your life and of the other driver
@GamingBTL, It is funny I was going to make a video comparing the two. Since they are at similar price point, I thought some people might be cross-shopping them. I went with the 4C instead of a 911 because it felt more special, and a little bit exotic. After driving both of them few times, I would still pick the 4C due to the fun factor. You do not have to modify it to have crazy turbo noises and exhaust sounds. It is a fun car. Tramlining on the 4C might be a deal breaker for some. But I wanted a car to keep me busy when I drive it. Getting Micheline PS4 tires does help with tram lining. The 911 is the better car. It is well engineered and it can do it all. There are plenty of dealerships and machining that can help you with the 911. Alfa Romeo mechanics and dealerships are something to consider. Although 911 is better overall car, as far as the fun factor and the looks are concerned, the 4C wins. I think I would have to get a Cayman GT4 or a GT3 to get the same amount of entertainment.
@Kapil-Patel, it was great to finally get out and enjoy the cars. I have been busy dealing with the house and work. Next time I will pay more attention to the road.
