Bombers as a whole was a bad idea. sure they dealt massive amount of damage against factories but most of the bombs either missed or killed civilians. So pointless, just like war in general are

Also, blame the nazis for deliberately putting their factories in the middle of populated cities while they too bombed innocent people. Without a ball turret, the under belly would have been unprotected and leave the crew exposed. The superfortress on the other hand used remote control turrets on the top and bottom but the technology came at the time when the luftwaffe was nearing their superiority as long range escorts came in

this was only suing going in through my head during my bomb run at 12k feet in a Hudson mk1 boy I had to look to see bomb sight and remember last sounds before my mind went from hell yea they DEAD from a Hudson mk1 XD so I said in my chat "slenderwender to base,bombs out!" and reply wuz "F4F wildcat to Hudson mk1 come in" I replied "Hudson to helcat problem" his reply "the flak is absolutely spraying OH SHIT" a friend in a b-25 was in front bye a few feet from me bombing to and his wing ended up flying back and ripped mine off and taking my plane and slicing it in half at back making crew 2 pilot and bombadier well the gunner wuz gone and bailed and got sliced from the tail rudder witch at that moment someone said I think it was my f6f helcat escort saying "HIEVY FLAK FLAK FLAK FUCK IM HIT MAYDAY MAYDAY GOING DOWN" and,that way it for him he bailed sucsesfuly to fall 10 k feet be for shoot acualy opened up up there though FLAK was just terrible and then I heard a engine exploaded and i saw it in the cockpit making my wing be fucking a flying soser and the b-25 was way down and all u heard was shit ton of flak and the whistle of bombs because I ordered DROP BOMBS REGARDLESS TARGETED OR NOT DROP EM and I dropped 2 500"lbs pound bomb and the b-25 unloaded a full bomb bay of 26 100 lbs bombs and a little puff of smoke is all I saw to represent the bombs going off and one of my bombs hit my friend flying over droping a napalm and a 100 pound bomb on the deck of a carrier and he said "oh no a whistle SHIT WINGS GONE TAIL GONE ENGINE GONE IM GONE EJECTING" and a huge ass explosion I saw down there taking half of carrier's deck off and making plane parts splitter splatter the watter and I ejected at 7k feet and worst moment forgot the parachute was sucked out during that explosion witch ripped a good little hole in the side and bracking all Windows on that side in the back room behind the cockpit (Hudson mk1) and I wuz no chute and I had this song going through my head :( :)
There's a lot on this car that's not "to spec", surprised you didn't moan about the seats already. But it's the way Dad and I restored her 30 years ago, and I'm making some modest improvements here and there, but I want to leave her "as is" for the most part. We've already repaired and replaced several body timbers. It's not an easy or fast job, but it's also not impossible.
I like your TC. I have a 1949 TC, #8253. I just bought a supercharger for it. If folks thought it was dangerous before they should check it out when I get the blower figured out. Happy TC motoring to you !
