I really need someone to reply to this comment. I’ve replaced the vacuum switch on the transfer case. I’ve checked all the hoses. The actuator is fine. The only thing I know that’s for sure messed up are the buttons themselves but I can get those to work enough to press them. The actuator is always fully sucked and has the cable pulled at all times yet the front wheels aren’t engaged. And when I press the buttons, all I get is a clicking in the differential and a whole lot of nothing after that. What do I do?
I have a beautiful 02' Blazer ZR2 4x4 in 2023. That actuator under the battery is almost always the culprit. Dorman just came out with a new Heavy Duty, much thicker rubber actuator that cost $70 at O'Reilly's.. However, if you have the old actuator from O'Reilly's. They'll swap it free of charge because it has a lifetime warranty. I don't have that nipple inside the driver's side wall or fender like on this one.
Easy way to tell that is a vacuum problem is that your heater will not work correctly because your heater hose is connected to the same line and it also takes vacuum to actuate the HVAC flaps
My blazer has vacuum and will pull the vac pod in, but doesnt return in 2wd. however it doesnt even feel like it is in 4wd when the front diff cable is pulled
We have a Sonoma GMC 4+4 someone had the actuator onthe top side of the battery I moved it out of the way to put jumper cables on and now it wontgo in anygear
The transfer case switches is on top of the transfer case with 3 vacuum lines my switch failed and I had fluid throughout my entire vacuum system had to replace everything
They sell kits to switch the vacuum actuator to a locking cable that sell for over $100. I ordered a locking PTO cable from eBay for $12. and fabricated the end bracket from stuff I had in the garage. The other thing this gives you is the possibility to have 2wd low range as well.
Thx 4 the video my son has a 2001 Chevy Blazer LT 4x4 and had the same problem. The 4x4 doesn't work. There is a part that has two small 5/32" vacuum lines the top vacuum nipple is missing the vacuum line it had a rubber cap on it located in the middle top of engine (by firewall/windshield just so u get idea of where it is). Do you think you can make a video of that rubber hose line so I can see where that line goes to please zoom in on the.line so I can see where it gets attached to along the way to the actuator under the battery like you said. Thx a million if you can do this. 👏🚘👍👍
Actually the funny story behind that was I was trying to recreate the fault that I was having. I would like to show what the problem is and demonstrate what it is and then show how to fix it rather than just arbitrarily say this is the fix without showing the work. The ice actually really helps for that too because I can then spin my tires and show what's going on
you need to work on your video making skills. no you did show a useful piece of information that nobody else showed in their videos. which could save a lot of time
After 9 videos. It was your video to show me the vacuum line under the driver fender. Thank you. Just bought a 99 Blazer yesterday and 4x4 didnt work. NOW IT DOES
I’ve watched a lot of videos on this matter and came across your video by accident, went out immediately to my truck and sure as shit that vacuum line you pointed out was rotted. Replaced the line and everything works great. Thank you for the video a $3.00 fix.
Do as the video says ..see if the hoses are cracked or weathered replace them ....Next look at the Actuator under the battery tray If its not pumping inward when you hit the 4x4 hi or low Ether you still have a vac leak or the Actuator is bad Or the Dorman 600-500 4-Wheel Drive Switch (google) Finally The last thing is Your truck at one point had someone try to switch into 4x4 while moving and the gears are chewed and will not slide into place ...Normal thing to do if your changing the actuator change the drive switch ...If yours is flashing into 4x4 and back to 2wd Your electrics are working ...hope it helps
Douud you're a life saver I've been chasing this issue for the last 22 weeks. I also noticed and could hear the vacum line hanging on the driver side of my Jimmy Tought it was for the ABS or something like that from what I could find from diagram. Thank you so much for the video!!
Hey brother nice ZR2 and great info upload. FYI you have a issue somewhere with starting it. Cap and rotor are toast more than likely. Ck air filter to. Im a Zr2 guy.
Hey Zr2 guy theres no lights on the little buttons for the 4wd ,you know when its in 2wd the 2wd light will be on ,well mine isnt and i havent even tried my 4wd out yet cause i just bought my ZR2 but i was wandering if that mattered or not?thanks ,CHEVY GUY
i really need someone to help me,its about my chevy vortec v6 2000 ,its about the ecm ,i wish to know how the ECM works to the injector, cause i find a + in the harness same as the negatif - at the same time, so i wish someone to understand me, and give me some advices just to repair my car. i hope you will give a good answer soon , thanks for your support.....
Personally the bow is not for me and I fully believe that there is a place for it and I'm sure somebody else would like using it but it won't be me. Bows can actually be extremely strong later on in the game. We grind to that is normally a split though between bow gun and bow depending on monster.
Great job..these things "Shit-10"mpg gas station blazers...designed by GeeManiacs (with as many problems possible for a p.o.s. truck, because these Rockefeller corporations hate american auto workers) their toyota brand is not too bad though, at killing american jobs. So, it's great to see someone who can find these Gremlin Maker's problems under the hood. GM...Designed to fail america every time, period.
That is a very nice looking ZR2 Blazer black Fender Flares red paint. And yes there are a lot of ways the four-wheel-drive could act up it is kind of a ridiculous system all the vacuum lines on these trucks rot away eventually they turn to Ash they all do it. I've looked at many of these trucks in the salvage yards.
